Was hoping this thread would get bumped again. Don't think it's been posted yet, but saw that Utah Design Foundry recently started making a 2-door hard bracket in red or black for $50 that can be configured to secure a fire extinguisher (among other items) using various Quick Fist clamps. They've been a sponsor here for about a year and are known for their metal closeout panels for the OEM steel bumper.

Not 100% which QF clamp is recommended for that application or if anything else is needed, but I'm guessing maybe one or two of the $12 Super Quick Fist Clamps would work (LINK), though the 3-hole layout appears to be different. Paging @utahdesignfoundry - any details?

I have thought about adding an extinguisher to my Jeep but I have often wondered about the heat. Living in FL it gets hot as hell in there. Is heat not an issue? I think most of the extinguishers I have seen say temps up to 120.

I don't get Florida hot all the time, but here in Missouri we see temps in the upper 90's to 100 for about 2 months. Never had an issue with my extinguisher.

Hey thanks for thinking of us!

So yes our hole pattern is different than the quick fist mount you linked but it’s designed to be pretty universal. As long as it fits on the platform you can always drill additional holes to accommodate whatever you’d like to mount.

Damn I thought it was hot here. LOL.

I just dont want it to explode or something because it gets well over 120 inside the vehicle.

Thanks for the info, but was kinda hoping for a recommendation as to which specific Quick Fist bracket you actually used in your picture.

Not sure if it's possible for you, but think a ready-to-go kit for that application might sell well, considering there's very few 2-door extinguisher mounts on the market. Never used your mount or QF products before, so without knowing the exact dimensions of your mount or the hole-spacing of either product, it's complete guesswork for consumers to figure out exactly which of their clamps will physically fit on the mount, regardless of any additional drilling that might be needed.

I appreciate that feedback! It can be hard to make a good one size fits all solution but we do really value making things easy for customers so I'll see what we can put together as a kit or at least a more comprehensive compatibility list.

The mount in the photo is actually the one that comes standard with Kidde fire extinguishers.

The quick fist mounts I recommend are either of these depending on the diameter of what you are mounting:

Quick Fist 1
Quick Fist 2

So glad this thread recently got bumped. I’m looking for a new solution to mount my fire extinguisher with a soft top. I’ve tried the Velcro on the back pillars. It’s not a solid fit as they have to go around the soft top attachments. And let’s be real — the amount of time it’d take to open the back, bend under the soft top window and maneuver your way around it to unvelcro the straps, or go through the back door, half climb in to do the same you’re jeep would most likely be gone.

I currently have it under the driver seat but looking for a better mounting solution. I have the top back quite a bit so don’t want something overhead. I ordered the element stick and using the flashlight attachment that sits down on the side of the driver seat to hold it. Yes, video shows not the greatest, but it could be a quick grab to catch something (or work my way to my bigger one if needed).

I also put my back seats down quite a bit so storing under this seats isn’t feasible. Has anyone else found an alternative solution with soft tops?

Edited to add pic so you can see a little more of what I’m referring to. We can’t attach things to our rear pillars due to where the soft top is attached.

That works great for yall hard tops. Problem is for us soft tops we have the brackets there where the top is mounted too. Which has been my dilemma.

I would call Mountain Off-Road (M.O.R.E.) . They have other alternatives for mounting a fire extinguisher.
