The Wrangler is a niche vehicle, purposely designed for off-roading. So when it's not used for off-roading i.e. the soccer mom's and desk dad's that are sueing, and that don't know anything about off-road vehicles and the way they are set up experience what they believe as "problems" that are actually common occurances, then of course you're gonna get taken advantage of and they're gonna get as much money from you as possible, because you're too dumb to do research and learn the problems. If a mechanic tells you something is bad on your car, and it's not, and you let them "fix" it, it's you're fault for believing them. They did nothing wrong legally, only morally. So how come when an actual manufacturer does it it's illegal? You got played because you're an idiot, just accept it.

The DW is more of a DW "lite" where the traditional DW is usually on a lifted vehicle and a larger issue than just the dampener. I am in the process of doing a buy back/replacement on my 2018 JL. My new JLUR was ordered two weeks ago MSRP to MSRP (plus usage fee to the first reported problem, in my case about 5K miles at .30 a mile which is what the law says they can charge). FCA tried to fix my 2018 JLU twice by replacing the dampener and after 23 days in the shop, (total between both repairs) most of that waiting on the order restriction for the part the second time (at least that's what I was told) the FCA rep put me in for a buy back adding the DW to an issue with the radio, (which was putting me in locations I was not at, and getting stuck on XM, or just going to the black screen of death). Rep said they could order another dampener and it will be two weeks and well beyond the 30 day max for the lemon law, so if I was willing to do a replacement, they would authorize. From what the mechanics have explained, the issue is the dampener's are getting jammed if they are hit just right (nobody knows what just right is, but its happening to more and more of the 208 JL's, some with low miles some with higher miles - 30K plus) and once the dampener has been jammed it is toast and only a matter of time before it fails causing the wobble. Mine first did it only at highway speed, since the second dampener went bad it's now doing it more often even at lower speeds. FCA rep talked to me about the issues for less than five minutes before deciding they would replace it. Three days later I was contacted by Stericycle and now I am just waiting on the build and delivery of my 2019 JLUR.
From my experience, there was no need for lawyers or law suits, FCA and Stericycle have been great! Dealer I bought it from SUCKS, dragged their feet, lied and lied some more, even ignored the Stericycle rep and lied to that poor guy a bunch of times. I was eventually put me in touch with the next closest dealer and they took care of me in under 15 minutes - walked in ordered and walked out with the VON Stericycle needed to hot list the build. Stericycle called me to let me know it had been hot listed before I got home from the dealer.
So NO LAWYERS, NO LAW SUIT and despite what some have experienced with FCA, they've really stepped up and been great with the customer service aspect. This was so simple to have them agree to, that it makes me wonder if they really do know the problem is bigger than we think and they're looking to get ahead of it.

I have owned a YJ and a TJ both bought new. I ran a 4 inch lift on both with 33 inch tires and only had death wobble on the TJ one time at 120,000 miles. I barely managed to get to 1000 miles on a stock 2018 JL before having death wobble, steering auto correcting hard left, radio not working properly, side panels on hard top falling off, track bar recall, and Chrysler doing everything they can to not fix the vehicle. So yeah I hope they sue Chrysler into bankruptcy. Any company that treats their customers the way I have been treated especially being a 3 time customer deserves everything coming to them.
Yes, let’s make trial attorneys rich, and destroy an American icon in the process. I’m sure the hernia mesh and mesothelioma racket is about tapped out.

I have had 13 Wranglers, 1 Grand Cherokee SRT, 4 Ram pickups, a ‘74 Plymouth Fury, ‘88 Dodge Shadow, ‘91 Dodge Daytona, ‘18 Challenger Scat Pack, and have been happy with all. Were they all perfect? Nope, but nothing like the lemon you are describing. Buying the first year of any redesign is risky.

Lemon law it or trade it and move on. Maybe a nice Honda Passport is more suited for you.

This is what happens when you attract the Image Hunters to a niche vehicle. FCA wanted the
Mass Market, well they got it, now it's gonna bite them. And probably neuter the Wrangler as well.

I got my '15 September '14, I drove the piss out of it hunting across 3 states, pothole rich logging roads, rutted out cat trails, some times no roads or trails. Not once did I experience this Death Wobble on the Freeway traveling to and fro hunting locations. I just traded it in this year on a new '19 MOAB. Sure the '15 shook a little once I got over 80MPH, but nothing more than a shimmy. Now I just got my '19 it only has about 230 miles on it, just local driving thus far, but I have taken it out on a few trails runs around MT Charleston, NV and have run it down the freeway speeds up to around 80MPH. The '19 with the 2inch MOPAR lift w/ 35's smooth as silk. I can't say I have ever experienced this issue. Didn't even know it existed, always just let a little air out the tires if it felt a little shake at lower altitudes.

What's the Build Date on your 2018 JL 2 door ? Thankz
May, 2018.
I did, and they offered me a warranty after the last stabilizer fixed the issue for another month. After the warranty conversation, it failed again, and since then I've put in the updated stabilizer.

First off, I despise trail lawyers! That smilie little puke John Edwards got rich off junk science and drove up the cost of health care. I know, my wife's OBGYN told me he couldn't afford insurance anymore so he went back to teaching at the university. Everybody wants to win the law suit lottery, not giving a shit about the outcome to the hundreds of folks that lose their jobs or consumers paying higher prices. Common sense and personal responsibility ? Foreign terms to this cradle to grave take care of me nanny state generation. Limit the amount of damages and dry up the trial lawyers, let them go back to fixing speeding tickets.

Ours just became a classic collectors addition!

Finally one group the JL can claim we are the true “last real Jeep” hell yeah, I’m keeping this thing FOREVER!

Another 90 years I’ll be a millionaire!

EDIT:

Has anyone got an old run down barn and a tarp that I can use for storage purposes?

And I have a life time warranty.. this will be fun ride.

If you modify you own it. My JLUR has no wobble and steers straight.
I do believe people want a Jeep but they want it to drive like a CAR and then they sit around and complain.

No jeep shipped large numbers with physically loose bolts, defective stabilizers, and had to rev track bar and drag link due to weak bushings, as well as reving the gear box.

This is on top of simple mistakes like over filled tires and bad alignments and they flubbed cal data on some early units.

Stock jeeps are seeing it, and many have to fight terrible dealers to get fixed. Sure you lift it and beat it, you fix it. Talking stock new jeeps are seeing death wobble, death shimmy and loose steering due to factory issues.

Like any yield issue the fact that yours does not an issue (yet) means nothing

The Jeep brand, specifically the Wrangler, will not die out that way. If FCA were to go bankrupt I'm positive another company would buy it. The Wrangler is practically a money printing machine. I do think FCA may have gone a bit too far in cost cutting to try and maximize profits.
