Hi all,
I just bought an ‘18 JLU Sahara with 13k miles. I took a road trip to Santa Fe the day after I brought it home. When I hit bumps in the road the steering shakes and I have to hold on tight. I think this may be the death wobble. I am afraid to drive it now. I see so many opinions on what to do with it. Can someone please advise me on the best route to take.
Thank you. It is completely stock.

read the threads here on death wobble. You can also see some videos. You may not have death wobble but rather a “shimmy”. See the videos on both.

Once you know what you have, there is a great thread on this site about wobble and some of the new steering/suspension parts Jeep has put out.

With this info, go to your dealer...... see which version of the parts you have (replacing yours if a new one exists). While there, have the dealer check everything and torque everything to spec....

That is the place to start.

Hi Passe.parade,
We regret to hear that you are experiencing this steering concern. If you would like to have your dealer address this, please send our team a private message and we would be happy to offer an additional layer of assistance to this process!

If your Jeep has a lift Jeep will tell you that you're basically out of luck. I had an open case, but they refuse to diagnose it any further because I have a lift on my Jeep.
