Yeah that’s complete BS and illegal. They would have to prove that any aftermarket parts that you installed caused the warranty issue. They can’t cancel parts of your warranty because they didn’t do the work. You need to find a new dealership.
Aren’t they technically saying just that? Your warranty on those suspension parts are void if you replace them?
I will share what I have found after having tested a variety of shocks and lifts. On my first JL I had the SP2 3.3 Adjustable shocks for the 4 door. I would drive with them in the softest setting, and found that they had a harsh "jolt" feel for any bumps at a low speed. The only time I increased the stiffness was for when I was towing, had a substantial amount of weight added (passengers, camping gear), or jumping/going faster off road. BUT I would never go higher than the 2 setting (out of 9), and higher and my Jeep was just to stiff which was frustrating not being able to utilize the full range of the shocks.
Nice! I thinks it’s more about the right combination of springs with the shocks. You have to look at both of them and get a good match. Fast forward to my newer Jeep, same Teraflex ST3 lift, same wheels and same tires. I opted to try the same shock in the 2dr variation. I am much happier, I drive split between the softest setting or increase it to the 2.1 or 2.2 setting for longer road trips/windy conditions. I prefer a softer ride, which means more body roll but if I increase it to 2.2-2.3 it handles much better around turns. I have thought about trying synergy springs as well but am satisfied with how this drives and have other mods first on the list.
Lastly, I was in Moab last week with a few other friends who have JL's. One has the Mopar lift with Fox shocks, another has a Teraflex lift with 2.0 Fox Reservoir shocks. After driving all three there was a substantial difference in ride with my Falcon shocks and all four of us (3 drivers, 1 passenger) agreed that the Falcon provided the smoothest ride.
My recommendation is is get the shocks that are packaged with the springs. If not go to someone like accutune or filthy Motorsports (I’m guessing ADS and Radlfo too) and get custom tuned shocks for your spring rate and type.
