This Youtuber runs 50psi and discusses his rationale at length in this video. I've never heard a recommendation north of the mid-30s. Listen at 2:20 and 4:55.

Guessing mpg is at the top of his list? Along with a deep misunderstanding of how air pressure relates to tires.

I'm just waiting for him to post a video about wrecking his 392 when the tire explodes at speed.
You're thinking 50 PSI tires typically explode at speed?

The people that tend to run extremely high tire pressures for fuel economy also tend to the be the ones that show up with the cords showing saying "Dont try to up sell me" so ... yea sometimes?

My buddy's Nitto Trail Grappler exploded at like 35 PSI. So, potentially?

Mythbusters tested varying tire pressures.

If you skip to 4:58 you can see that there is not enough saving to make the added wear on the tires something that should even be considered.

As long as the tire pressure is within the limits of the tire, the pressure would not be the root cause of an explosion. Higher pressure can cause a more severe explosion and may make the explosion more likely, but it wouldn't be the root cause.

Never said the pressure caused it, more just saying tires can explode, and at 50 PSI I bet it'd be a doozy
