verified that fan is running on what appears to be low / quiet with AC on.

today was the first “warm” day at 45F, so I wonder if I’m just running the heat less and noticing higher engine temps as a result. Since buying the car a month and a half ago, never saw above 205F so I was surprised to see 219F in driveway.

no need to address with dealer?

thanks for your help!
As long as coolant levels are normal, it's all good to go. That's a normal temp by all accounts in those conditions. They set the temp for the cooling fan really high.

All highway driving is 195… any cruising 20 MPH or less is 220 ish. Ambient temps are 30s. Dealer says normal. Fan comes on sparingly and only for 10 seconds or so.

I did and the fan didn’t turn on at those ambient temps.

anyone insist that those temps are “too high”?
Whats the weather like where you are? The fans should turn on to maintain head pressure of the a/c system. As a side effect, they’ll keep the engine cool.

30s mostly. In that pic it’s 36. Maybe as ambient temps rise, fan will come on more. You mentioned that it’s fine… dealer says don’t bring it in until I see 140+ ?

Yea that sounds pretty much normal, if it maintains ~195 when driving then its right.

Yes, nothing to be concerned. My new 2023 Willys XR and the XR Rubicon I had before both behaved the same way. 197F on highway but on street driving or in heavy traffic, 230-235F coolant temp is pretty normal.
Had my XR Rubicon checked out last year and the shop foreman checked everything and assured me everything is good and within specs. He gave me a printout also on the various variables and conditions on how the computer operates the fan. Even at these temps, the analog gauge remains slightly below the half level.
