What size tires are you running? Look like 37s? How tall of bump stops? Wheel backspacing? Thanks for the info. Yes, removing the fender liners will surely help.
I wish I could say on the bump stop, it came with the kit and I never questioned it, I also had the kit installed at a shop since my garage mod buddy was out of town and I didn't really want to tackle it alone and probably squish myself.
I talked with EVO today about it and they said run it if possible and remove plastic so as not to limit the max travel, obviously. I'll pull the lower fender liners and see how things clear.
Here are some pictures of the travel and offset. Tires are Procomp 37x12.5. Wheels are 17x9 with 3.5 backspacing, probably why they catch the fender lip.

Ah...the "long-term" debate. I keep thinking the same. Though as you know, there are compromises with coilovers (mainly noise and maintenance). When I get my JL (JS status of today), I'll probably start with either the Fox or King 2.5. I may end up with coilovers, but I want to give a basic setup a shot first.

I'm quite familiar with nitrogen pressures (I have my own setup since I rebuild all my own shocks on my vehicles), but I was just wondering if you did have that type of shock, as I was thinking you may have been too high or low ("bouncy" is vague and could be either).
Yeah I've rebuilt coilovers as well, really nothing to it if you have your own nitro setup even better.

I adjusted my front upper arms a bit and added 3/4 coil spacers up front, seems to ride a little better for some reason. Maybe springs and shocks starting to settle in. I light just get the 2.5 king's with adjusters that are Evo tuned for the springs in the future since I live in socal desert with high speed runs don't know will run it for a bit.

Flex looks good! Hopefully I'll get to big Bear this weekend and see how she does.

I'm torn between the EVO Kings and the Fox shocks. I may be able to get the Fox shocks at a better price, but that's not a good enough reason.

I'm also a so cal desert person (though live in Orange County). From fall through spring, we're either out near Cougar Buttes, Truck Haven or Ocitillo, almost every other weekend this last year. Though we're mostly there to ride moto or moto trials (at CB, anyway). I've been running a Samurai at those places, but looking forward to playing around in my JL after I get it (ships from the factory on the 18th) and get it built. My 14 year old daughter will continue to learn to drive the Samurai.

As you know the shocks are only good as the tuning. I like the foxes with dsc for more adjustability (I like the orange color too since it goes with my punkn). But the kings have been valved for the Evo springs specifically and you can get them with adjusters too. I'm up in Palmdale area so real close to Mojave and such, only passed through octillio since it's on the east side from me. Usually head up to lower sequioas or kernville for the summer then death valley in winter or for a day trip dove springs and red Rock canyon area since it's only 45 min or so.
