This is so true about the money people spend to disarm ESS. All I did was lift the hood and unplug it. I don’t mind that little notification light on the dash.
What did you unplug I'm new to the Jeep scene.

When you open the hood you will see 2 plunger types switches approximately over the drivers side headlight. If you search on YouTube there are excellent videos that will show you how it’s done.
That little notification light on the dash is an indicator for more than a fault with ESS. Sometimes other issues like misc. misfires will cause ESS to be purposely disabled (turning on the light) before the misc. misfires trigger their own alert. By causing the light to be on all the time, you may miss out on important notifications.

You are probably correct no doubt. This is my 5th Jeep my 4th 4 door unlimited. To tell you truth if I had known about this 2 battery system that controls the ESS and any other functions I certainly would not have bought it. After reading on this form all the headaches that this system can cause I am seriously thinking of getting rid of it, and to make matters worse the techs at the dealers can’t even fix them when anything happens. I am quite sure other makes have their issues also but nothing compared to what I have been reading here. Anyway love the Jeeps just can’t handle all the crap that seems to be on with the new ones.
It's on the center console menu options. Scroll past tire pressure, gas mileage, and eventually you get to a ESS status page.
True - keeping them charged, topped off, will extend the life.
I know that what you are saying is correct but it’s just the disappointment that I am feeling after enjoying so many good years in Jeeps. Most of the issues I have been through as the saying goes it’s a Jeep thing right. Tell me do you know what the popular replacement batteries that are being used these days.
