I feel for both of you, but that doesn't change the fact that there are actually some, in fact many, orders that have been built and delivered from October through today and your particular situations are the exception and not the norm.

Jeep is definitely having delivery issues but it's not EVERY Jeep as you both keep alluding to, in the process scaring everyone who asks about new Jeeps.

Not to split hairs here but your dealer is one of 5 or 6 high volume, low price dealers in the world, not just the US, so they are the exception, not the rule. "Normal" dealers aren't waiting for 100 Wranglers to be delivered per week like Gupton is. You can't consider that "more than some" because not all of them in waiting for shipment are October/November/December orders.
Well, I didn’t say all were delayed, I said more than some. I also am not using the high volume dealer you are referring to - just the same, there are many waiting for their Jeeps to be shipped, and for you to try to make it seem to be business as usual is misleading at best. this forum has had several join recently to ask about delays because there are problems, not exceptions.

What data are you using to verify that the delays that are being experienced are explicitly not exceptions?

You are talking as if everyone that has ever bought a jl has been on this forum, which I would have to guess is actually a small percentage of owners. Who is going to post in threads like? People that have been waiting is who, not someone who got it in a reasonable time.

Not at all, we all know that the forums likely have only a few percent of actual owners, and I will say that I originally thought my delay was an exception, but when I spoke to my dealer, and friends that also have their orders waiting, it started to appear that more than a few ‘exceptions’ were delayed. And while forum representation may be small, it is a sampling. If there were no problems with builds or shipping, there wouldn’t be so many threads with high post counts. Dealers are telling their customers that there are not just supply delays but shipping delays as well.

You may not agree with me or the many others out there that are waiting so long, but then why aren’t all the October and November orders built by now? Why is the Toledo plant using an overflow lot to park Jeeps if they are being shipped in a timely fashion? I can go on, but I doubt I will change your opinion and know you won’t change mine. BTW the OP wouldn’t have titled this thread “Enough is enough” if he was driving his Wrangler now.

It's only been two weeks since I ordered my Jeep. After reading all these posts, I'm seriously considering just settling for what's on a lot. I thought it would be great to get everything the way I want it, but after seeing these wait times, I may bail. The dealer told me 12 weeks but I guess that won't be the half of it.
Keep thinking this too and going back to Autotrader.. then I see those prices.. I refuse MSRP

Granted, it’s only been 3 weeks for me. I need to find something to do with my time..

Ok, so some MATH here.. they sold 204k Wranglers in 2021, so that is 17k per month and we are seeing nearly 2 month backup in completed but not shipped units.

Assume for the moment an average of $55k per unit, lets call it 30k units sitting waiting to be shipped that is $1.65 BILLION dollars of sales sitting around waiting to be shipped?

If I had to guess, Jeep cannot mark the unit as "sold" on their financial statements until delivered? So with March 31st, quarterly reports looming... I am HOPING they have a BILLION reasons to force these Jeeps onto the trains and get them 'delivered!?'

I would also guess that the sales managers and dealerships ALSO have a personal goal / commission / bonus waiting on them for every unit they move?

So all of this to say..my fingers are crossed.. and check out the MONTHLY sales figures for Jeep Wranglers and you see some upticks on those quarters!! Look at the MARCH sales figure compared to FEBRUARY each year!!

https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/jeep-wrangler-sales-figures/

This is just one bean counter's perspective but it just occurred to me yesterday that there is a big financial reason (BILLIONs of sales possibly) for them to push REALLY hard this week and next!?
All that could be true, but I think the transport companies are being pushed with the higher fuel prices. They are pushing back, by doing nothing, waiting for additional income for increased fuel prices. It’s currently happening at my company, which just added a additional delivery fee. All a chess game, within a chess game & we are the pawns!

Its only fair the trucking companies should be able to charge a FS just like UPS , etc.

With all due respect, ah... No.

The shipping charge is already $1,595.00 on each and every new Jeep shipping stateside. At 200K Jeeps per year, I'd say FCA is making a ton of money far in excess of what it takes to actually ship the darn things. If there's going to be a fuel surcharge, that's between the shippers and FCA, and I'd bet that subject has already been brought up.

That said, if on the next order guide the shipping fee does not go up, I'd be shocked.

As someone that works in accounting / auditing, I suspect the "delivered" status is VERY important and just sitting on a lot, not yet SHIPPED would not meet the FOB shipping point OR FOB delivery.

Think about it from the dealer perspective, they have to pay interest on the vehicles in their inventory. This is called 'floorplan' and NO dealer would be willing to pay interest on a vehicle not in their possession. That floorplan is a big loan to the dealership and I suspect when the vehicle is officially on that floorplan it is considered "sold" by the mfg.

So with all of that in mind, I am doubting the auditors will consider the revenue / "sold" until they are on the dealers lot where the vehicle is actually generating interest income (for possibly third party who is financing the dealers floorplan)

If you look at the monthly sales figures for those Wranglers for several years you will see a signficant jump in number of units "sold" every year in March compared to February. So the evidence seems to suggest that "they" (Jeep) "sell" (deliver, whatever their standard is) a bunch of Jeeps and so I am offering HOPE to all of us that are waiting... that there is financial incentive for Jeep to get your Jeep OFF their books!

Another interesting bit of info, my dealer ran their query today and over the weekend my Jeep shipping status changed to "Truck Vendor Changed", on 3/18 and again 3/21, both times the "Carrier" is RPMF. I am guessing that is RPM Freight https://www.rpmmoves.com/ who appears to be a huge OEM vehicle carrier!!

The dealer mentioned that SEVERAL of their orders are all showing this status now, they had 19 orders on Toledo Raceway Yard and mine is still saying that as the LOCATION (since 2/21) but still taking this as a good sign that maybe Jeep decided to send via truck OR.. slots are opening up and their are moving them around now!

So.. NOT trying to rain on the parade of any prospective buyers. In fact if they order today and they are waiting for their Jeeps in June.. this might all be true again (getting in before Q2 is over) etc!!
Adding to this post as someone who ordered from the same dealer… my XR has been in KZS status since 1/26 and like the poster above, my Jeep changed to “truck vendor changed” on 3/21. I’m hoping they gave up on the train and decided to go truck for transport. Toledo is only 9 hours from our facing dealer.

Here are my "Top Ten Takeaways" from my time on this chat:

1. Your JL will come when it comes
2. The more you add to your order, the longer it will take to build
3. The further you are from Toledo, the longer it will take for shipping
4. Proper expectations are paramount - If you expect something and it doesn't happen, you'll be pissed. I'd say, for most, expect 8-12 weeks for a simple order; 14-17 weeks for a complex order, (this is subject to what Jeep thinks, not what you think)
5. Dealers have no idea when your Jeep will be built, and cannot expedite anything
6. Jeep "Chat", and calling Jeep, will not expedite anything, despite what they may say
7. I hear it will be worth the wait :involve:
8. There are exceptions to every "rule"
9. Speculation/venting/theories will not get your Jeep built faster, but help pass the time
10. Jeep does not care about you, or your specific situation/wait time/expectations

I ordered a complex JLUR build on 12/14, and have heard nothing since, (to give you some perspective); there are others here who have waited way longer than me. I want my Jeep too!!

Dealer told me they had already started on the 22s and I couldn’t order a 21 so I put in my order. Didn’t know. But got it January 17th.
