Some months ago, a forum member who took recent delivery of his Wrangler discovered a bill of lading in the vehicle. It was likely left there by accident. The BoL illustrated the cost the trucking company charged to deliver a full load of vehicles (presumably, all Wranglers) to the dealer from whom said member purchased his new Jeep.I´m a teacher as my main profession (do various other things as well). I literally just told someone I was thinking about bumping up my CDL´s to a class A so I could go pick my jeep up and spend the summer running jeeps from Ohio to Tennessee lol.
Possibly you have that backwards? One thing that I know is probably hard to understand for you short haulers, is we long haulers find it extremely hard to believe you guys ordered and received your Jeeps so quickly.
I ordered a '21 in October, but it converted to a '22 and was delivered in March. So, I waited 5 months for my 22 that I took delivery of in the third month of the year. I suspect it's similar for the poster. How so? Production didn’t start until 12/16.
Well for one, you don’t need chips and Just In Time ordering to ship something by rail or truck. Some months ago, a forum member who took recent delivery of his Wrangler discovered a bill of lading in the vehicle. The charge for the entire load was $1,500.00 or so. It was functionally equal to the transportation charge, evident on the Monroney, that every buyer of a new JL pays individually. Nice work, if you can get it!
I saved the photo of the BoL, and would repost it here but for the fact that my POS Dell laptop crashed and the pic was lost.
Possibly you have that backwards?
Why do you long haulers continue to wail and rend your garments over extended order/build schedules, when the causes -- chip shortages and difficulties with the Just-in-Time inventory control model -- are and have been well-publicized for many months now?
Good point. Just like I don't need chips to type this response on my phone. My perspective, however, might be skewed since I ran the computers (read: lots of chips) for a freight line while in college.Well for one, you don’t need chips and Just In Time ordering to ship something by rail or truck.
