This is something I have noticed with mine. It is a little finicky about the button and brake pedal being depressed at the same time. If one or the other is not pressed at exactly the same time it won't want to start.

After this happens it will not want to start even when you turn it to off and try it again multiple times.

However, knowing a little about newer vehicles I tried this once and it has worked every time since.

Push the button to the off position. Then don't touch anything, and sit there until all internal lights go off, dash lights, touch screen lights, even the shifter light. Once everything is off, push pretty hard on the brake pedal as others have stated and hit the start button.

So far it has worked every time.

One last comment: The other day I had the doors and top off. Drove to the store, turned the jeep off, then tried to turn it back on. It said no FOB. It would not start if I pressed the button with the FOB. tried 10+ times. I then hit unlock on my FOB, and then it started right up. ?

Interesting, good to know. Hopefully this doesn't happen again but I'll try it out next time.
