Car is mostly done but had to stop the build due to health issues with my dad. I am now looking for a Gladiator Rubicon. I love my JL Rubicon but need a truck as well.
All gaskets redone, brand new suspension all around, Mustang II front with rack and pinion power steering. Rear sump oil pan to...
The bars are aluminum and easily cut with an angle grinder. The caps can be pried off with a flat head screw driver and reinstalled. I cut mine down to narrow them as they protruded a bit more than I liked.
Had these on my JLUR and loved the ride with my falcon 3.3s but needed stiffer springs for all the extra weight I have. Springs have about 15k miles on them with some light off roading. I will throw in a .5inch spacer for the front as well. $250 OBO.
Looks great! I set mine up the same but used three gutter mounts as you are thinking of doing. Looks like it is really close to the top, I see you didn't install the wind deflector, I wonder how the noise level will be while driving.
I modification I made was to shorten the tubes a bit because...
? I'll wait for your report back. This rack outperformed my expectations. I run 4 bars across for added weight distribution and have been on some flexi trails and even some run and gun forest roads with no issues. My rtt isn't small either, at around 150ish lbs. I am very satisfied with the rack.
You can make or buy L brackets and mount just about anything to these racks using the bolts in the slots. I have a coupe awnings I have mounted with aluminum L brackets.
I visited the site you linked, the rack fits, the issue is how much weight can the SOT too handle? I run a rtt so that was my concern, I knew the rack would work but can it the top handle all that weight?
I was considering swapping my hardtop to a SOT. Called Deezee to see if my rack would work but the rep didn't know but informed me she would ask and call me back. I'm still waiting....that was a year ago.
