Unless your coolant system is more sand than coolant and it's cooking itself from the inside out. This was the early 3.6 JK lottery.
And the fucked up cylinder head on the '12s and '13s? Mine was a '12, never had that issue, but boy oh boy was I always listening for it or a cam.

I'll be honest, I do believe if you can work on a 3.6 you can work on a 2.0 or vise versa. They're both a pain in the ass with all the tight quarters endemic with modern engine bays.

Also, FUCK whoever designed that intake manifold on the 3.6. Having to take that shit off just to do spark plugs or deal with the stupid oil cooler is such a pain. But, it's doable. Figure it's probably analogous to some of the less fun jobs on the 2.0.
No arguments from me. That's why I said minor stuff on the 2.0, but it is a guarantee you're going to have leaking coolant lines, fitting and reservoir at some point. The 3.6 might have problems, but they're worse. Hey at least they're not a Ford 5.4 with 2 piece spark plugs. You can get to them, you just can't get the metal sparky parts out.

I've seen 3.6 reservoirs go the same way on here, don't think Jeep spared the 3.6 the same cheap parts lol. Example: Coolant Reservoir Leak (replace tank and outlet?) | Jeep Wrangler Forums (JL / JLU) -- Rubicon, 4xe, 392, Sahara, Sport - JLwranglerforums.com

Between the JT and the JL one of them is gonna have a bad reservoir at some point, so I'm fucked either way.

Some 3.6s, but all of the turbos are going to eat a reservoir. They are just to darn close to the whistle spinner. I'm not knocking or bosting either engine, it just is what it is.

We'll see how it goes, I figure there's lots out there without issue just like there's lots of 3.6s without cam issues, no matter how common the forums make them seem

The coolant stuff on the 2.0 is minor and there are upgrades for all of it. Can't say the same for cams/rockers/lifters. And at some point they all need plugs, so fuck me right in the 3.6. IMO the cam issues aren't common enough to worry about and I change my oil every 4k with PUP(fight me) for insurance.

Small leaks, minor. That shit with the Y pipe coming unbolted from the side of the block was some horseshit though. "Oh look, your engine just puked all its coolant because we can't do loctite, lol my bad"

I'm convinced that people who claim to want that brown diesel wagon don't actually own a car and would hate owning said brown diesel wagon
