2019 JLU with about 40k miles. Started up the other day and got a warning for my Electronic Throttle Control (ETC). Drove around a bit and restarted without an issue. I do notice the ETC warning light is on the dashboard for a second when first starting up but then it goes out. Any insight on this?

Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Warning
Light
This warning light will illuminate to
indicate a problem with the ETC
system. If a problem is detected while
the vehicle is running, the light will
either stay on or flash depending on the nature of
the problem. Cycle the ignition when the vehicle
is safely and completely stopped and the
transmission is placed in the PARK (P) position.
The light should turn off. If the light remains on
with the vehicle running, your vehicle will usually
be drivable; however, see an authorized dealer
for service as soon as possible.
NOTE:
This light may turn on if the accelerator and
brake pedals are pressed at the same time.
If the light continues to flash when the vehicle is
running, immediate service is required and you
may experience reduced performance, an
elevated/rough idle, or engine stall and your
vehicle may require towing. The light will come
on when the ignition is placed in the ON/RUN or
ACC/ON/RUN position and remain on briefly as
a bulb check.
If the light does not come on
during starting, have the system checked by an
authorized dealer.

Mine has done this (where it pops up for a brief second, then vanishes on start) for forever now. It's random, too, and doesn't do it all the time. Regardless, I haven't had any problems.

Also got this message recently and CEL for several days. 2020 3.0 diesel@30k. The shop said they’d start with the battery. But no other advice. Anyone get a resolution?

AFAIK On a gas motor it's normal during start up. It should turn off after the motor is running. On a diesel I have no idea.

Our Jeeps (and all modern motorized vehicles) preform a "bulb check" on start up or when you cycle the start button to Run. This is a quick test to ensure the dashboard warning lights/wiring are working properly. If your Jeep shows the warning briefly on start up then it's likely just doing that check. At least that's what I assumed with my Jeep; it has shown that warning on start up since the day I bought it. In over a year of ownership, my driving experience has never indicated that there was actually something wrong with the ETC.

I only started noticing it few months ago, when I start it, the big flash on the dashboard with the red symbol pops up and disappears immediately, couldn't catch it on video yet as it happens randomly not too often lately.
Not sure if it is related to hot temperature or not though. cause that when I started noticing it.
otherwise haven't noticed anything.
The dealer did mention that it could be a system check at the start.

Thanks for your feedback,

From what I'm reading, not seeing it on startup is unexpected behaviour.

GATORB8 quotes the manual...

The light will come
on when the ignition is placed in the ON/RUN or
ACC/ON/RUN position and remain on briefly as
a bulb check. If the light does not come on
during starting, have the system checked by an
authorized dealer.
