Fair warning I have done no troubleshooting or test on this issue yet. Just seeing if it’s a common or even if anyone else has had an issue.

My wife drops the kids off in the morning and has to unlock the doors with the button so our kids can get out in the morning. But her complaint that I’m just now hearing about(apparently this has been an issue for years) she has to press the unlock button on the driver door multiple times just to get the doors to unlock. Once she parked at work today she tested button operation and she said she had to press the button up to 9 times to get the doors to unlock. Sometimes it would lock on try one. Others it would work on the fourth. She says most times the magic number is 3 button presses to unlock the doors. Has anyone else had anything similar?

Thanks

I had a fob replaced under warranty for this very reason. One of the buttons "I believe unlock" did not work all the time and had to be pressed very firmly.

Bright side of this was they handed me back the old fob with the new one so I used the "special" fob just to start the Jeep from the upstairs bathroom. Made my morning routine a little easier on those cold days.

***UPDATE***
I did not have enough coffee when reading the OP and did not notice it was keyless entry button and not the fob. /facepalm

Sorry... Ignore me like my wife does :)

Check the pin connections between the door and body. Or it could be just a bad switch.

Following...same problem as OP.

@jdavis106 @HempelNet : you both report fob problems yet the OP refers to the switch to open the doors not on the fob, but driver's door. Are you suggesting that a faulty fob could be behind this problem despite its buttons not being the ones pressed with lack of response here?

No, I misread and thought he was talking about the button on the fob.

It's not the keyless entry button either, right? It's the physical button on the inside of the driver's side front door that should unlock all the doors when it's pressed.

Does the same thing happen when she tries the button on the passenger's side door? Does she ever have an issue unlocking it from the outside with the remote fob (if she has one)?
If it's only the passenger's door interior switch has she ever had the doors off? If so, I'd check the electrical connector on the door to make sure there isn't a loose pin.
