Hi everyone!

I just got a pair of half doors for my Jeep. I was wondering if anyone had some tips/tools/recommendations that helps make it any quicker to swap the doors. Especially the t-50 bolts.

Thanks!

Most 1/2 doors will drop into hinges and fit fine. No adjustment. Try installing and slowly closing for fit.

Maybe I misunderstood, other than disconnecting the harnesses, you just remove retaining screw at bottom of each hinge pin, lift and replace with new door. And most of us never use the hinge pin retaining screw again. Lol

I swap mine only twice a year unless on a long trip and I need the security of the full doors/windows. Very easy but no shortcuts that I am aware of aside from not screwing in the hinge bolts. FWIW, I do use mine.

Remember to lightly lube your door pins once a year as you switch them. Will help years from now

When using a ratchet to take the doors off, I put a large flat magnet, like the ones with your kids picture on it, on the Jeep so that I don’t scratch the paint. The JL is easier, but on the JK the ratchet would easily rub. Just a habit I got into take protect the paint.

Take the door hold opener off and push it into the door dont need it with the straps JL first Jeep to use them. Get a set of Door pins and take out bolts to never use again.

I put tape on the head of the ratchet to protect the paint but that sounds like a good idea too.

I have door pins to make it easier easier to align the door hings with the vehicle hinges (YOu don't need those T-50 bolts). Also, when I put my doors back on in the summer I don't hook up the electronics as my goal is to have the doors off as much as possible. Between not having to mess with the T-50 bolts and the wiring harness I can get both doors off in 5-10 minutes.
