I recently purchased new door bushings that came with door pin guides. I've read some people just leave them on year round some just during the summer and some only when reinstalling the doors.
As I am sure its probably a preference deal. What's the majority opinion ? Is it safe to keep these on year round ?

Yes, you can leave them on all the time. Your doors won't "fall off" when closed and chances are will take a little effort to remove with the doors open...but, you will have to remove the detent rod in order to remove the door.

Ive had the guide pins on since about 3 months after I bought the Jeep and took the doors off for the first time with no issues.

I run them year round on the uppers only.
Same, but I put them on the bottom instead. For me this seemed to work better, once the bottom one was in the top I was able to line up easier.

I have run them year 'round one my last 3 Jeeps, the one before that I just left the bolts off. Just check them from time to time, I have had them loosen up so had to re-tighten them.

Will it work? Yes. Is it safe? Maybe not. Kind of like putting a 22 long rifle bullet in place of an old glass fuse. Yep it works. One dead short away from losing a pinkie toe though. That sex bolt is the best thing keeping the door out of your lap if you get t-boned or roll over. Is the couple of minutes time saved worth it? Not knocking anyone that does it. I have a zinc allergy and eat oysters all the time. So roll the dice baby!

I dunno where the sex bolt is but if you get hit hard enough that the door breaks the hinge there having the nut on the bottom isnt gonna make a difference.

I haven’t had the bolts back in my doors since I took them off seven years ago
