Broke the Hinge Pin

Broke the rear passenger upper side door hinge pin. [driver's side]

it comes in black. what are my options.

do i let the dealer deal with it and would they paint it sting gray?

or DIY or any other options?

I flippin dislike Torx bolts. who ever invented those .......

No way to just replace the pin I suppose?

You could try getting a whole paint kit from some place like Touch Up Direct, which comes with primer, color, and clear. I think I paid $65 shipped. I don’t know that I have the skill with a rattle can nor access to a proper paint booth to do a great job myself on a very visible metal part like the hinge. I’m playing with it on a plastic snorkel cowl and some D Rings and using a buddy’s makeshift paint booth.

You could also ask a body shop for a quote.

Or buy 4 black ones and go for an accent look

If its just the threaded section it doesn't really matter. There are lots of users on here that have removed those nuts and never reinstalled them. I dont have them on any of my doors right now. One less thing to remove if I want to take the doors off.

I bent mine on labor day Monday and managed to straighten it out with a flathead and a hammer. Pretty sure I may need to change mine also next summer when I go remove the doors again. Nice to know quadratec has replacements available.

how did you manage to break it? In my case it was too much beer and recklessness
