Try not to floor it (WOT) from a dead stop on pavement. That puts a lot of strain on the drive train and tires.

I have the 6MT with mine and I run the heck out of it and it runs good. I wind it out all the time. It’s a ‘19 and I have had the clutch service done. No issues.

go ahead and run it and have fun.

Stetson
Same here but have not had the clutch done yet
My jeep is so quiet it’s hard to not hit the limiter some times especially 1st to 2nd

When my warranty runs out, I’m thinking about using Amsoil 0/20or 0/30. Anyone have thoughts or suggestions
No issues if that's what you want to use, but... Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is just as good at about half the price. I'm a fan of Amsoil [and Redline] gear oils (running Amsoil in my Grand Cherokee & Redline in the JL at the moment), but for engine oils I'm really liking the modern Valvoline & Pennzoil 0W-20 synthetic options.

None of these options are going to cause a failure, and if you experience one, it wasn't the oil's fault.

I think the dealer uses one them. Not sure.
I have always been a Valvoline guy. Just haven’t used it in synthetics. Use Valvoline VR1
20/50 in my 427- 790hp. Nitrous airboat engine. 😃
Dealers use Pennzoil Synthetic, which is very similar to Pennzoil Platinum (not PUP). It's fine, a good, not great, oil. I actually have PP in our Wrangler at the moment along with a Champ P1009XL filter.

Cycling the oil pressure and RPMs to higher levels from time to time makes a lot of sense.

just got back from missoula to bozeman and back (about 440 miles)which takes you over a couple mountain passes both ways :) not sure how many miles/minutes were driven over 5000 rpms but driving 75-80mph mostly in 4th gear over the passes you are screaming. nothing like it dropping to 3rd when a semi slows you down and you punch it to get past and hit 6000rpms before it shifts to 4th or 5th...my hand figured mpg was around 13mpg for the trip. Neither the oil temps or coolant temps got out of the ordinary and tranny temps were a non issue. it was unusually cool for this time of year.

Thank you for your service ;-). I'm a big fan of the Pentastar and when purchasing, knew I wanted the non-eTorque, straight up 3.6L V6 paired with the manual transmission. I know others have their preferences and opinions and that's fine. Those are mine. So thanks for the inside-baseball on it and if you have any other tidbits to pass along I'd love to hear them. Mine's a lifer - a keeper - the one I've always wanted, so I treat him like it.

I've always run 0W20, but recently ran 2 back-to-back rounds of 5W30 to see how it felt. The last change I returned to 0W20 and he's running like a top. He gets an oil change around 3k miles or sooner, depending on what happened in those miles.

I don't wind him out too much, except in the hills. There's a local hill I take him up once every couple of weeks, drop into 3rd and hit the gas. He has never been red-lined, but I take him up between high 5k-6krpm. So @Jeep Junkie, WOT doesn't mean red-lining him, but getting oil pressure up around 75 or so.

edit: oh, and ESS is always turned off. That was a really, really bad idea from the beginning.
Amazing info! Thank you!!! Any thoughts on the passenger side cam wear related to oil viscosity? The premium version with VVL and VVT? Again! Thank you. This forum is a rough place, but there are a ton of us on here who just want to learn.
I just want to say I was impressed with the power out of this engine. I started driving in the 1980s. There was no way a 6 cylinder would push 35" tires (which at the time would have been huge. You needed to have a 4" lift on a square body Chevy to run 33s) with 3.45 gears. It's quite a bit more powerfull than a stock 350SBC from the day.
Unfortunately now I have a tick from the right side. My Wrangler is a 2019 so it has the super expensive intake rockers and the cam kit is on back order with no date.

he was quoting the supposed engineer off of another forum. 🤦🏽‍♂️
