Had my rear diff/axle replaced at a dealership under warranty not too long ago and I'm having issues again so I took it back

And while checking my Jeep in, the service advisor says I'm also due for a coolant service, front diff service, and transfer case service (no record of it at 30K)

The diff and transfer case I was going to take to a trusted mechanic or do on my own. But he tells me that this could void any future warranty on those components if there's no record of it from an authorized store

Is this true?

Also, is a coolant flush/service needed already?

It's a 2021 2.0L turbo 8 speed automatic with 40,000 miles

Have a look at your Owner's Manual, and you'll see, for example, that replacement of engine and intercooler coolant is recommended at 10 years or 150K miles, whichever occurs first. See p. 363 of the 2021 book.

Arming yourself with that sort of knowledge will allow you to engage with dealer staff in such a way that you're able to make informed decisions.

Get reading. 👍

I don't know if something like that would void a warranty. It almost sounds like a scare tactic. Dealerships love easy jobs like that and charge a fortune for them and sniff around for more while the vehicle is in there. I'm not taking my jeep to the dealer unless something is very wrong with it or the paint bubbles under warranty.

Agreed, scare tactic! In the 5 years I have owned my JL, I've never had any routine maintenance done by my local dealer. I did it all myself. There's not a single record of anything that was done that they can see, but they have never denied me any warranty work. If they used your dealer's logic, they would not have replaced my rear axle, nor replaced the rear main seal.

Yeah I remember a maintenance interval chart saying 5 year/100K for coolant flush but this service advisor was saying the 2.0L engines can have coolant issues and he recommends 30K...

So I had the rear axle and differential replaced under warranty a few months ago and him saying IF any issues come up with the front axle/diff or transfer case it could be voided by Stellantis since there's no record of the services has me a little worried

Awesome, good to note. I didn't know how to respond to him as I was caught off guard

I put all my at home maintenance records and the mileage in the Jeep app. Dealer records show up there too. Your mechanic could enter the info into the app and give you detailed receipt to back it up. Or you could enter it on their behalf.

I buy my fluids/filters on Amazon in lieu of keeping receipts, and maintain a log in Excel that records what/when/how many miles. I also tend to change oil/air/fuel filters and rotate tires twice as often as they suggest, but that's just me.

In isolation, that's true, but it's also in the form of a potential leak [on the side of the block] due to insufficiently torqued fasteners. It's nothing to do at all with the chemistry or service life of the antifreeze itself.

Saying "coolant issues" without explanatory context is irresponsible.

You might consider taking your vehicle elsewhere.

Are you thinking a dealership will say "Oh, you have an Excel spreadsheet that you obviously didn't just make up on the spot, so we'll cover that warranty issue for you!"?
