My 2022 JL only has 12k miles and I’ve of course done regular oil changes. Recently my dealer told me I should do the 30k service based on time. Is it necessary so soon or are jeeps mileage over time for something like that?

So he’s probably basing it off this. There’s really not anything at the 30/3 mark that is worth doing on a time basis. If you feel like changing your own air filter, that might be worth doing, but I sure as hell wouldn’t pay a dealer any money for the privilege. Note the note at the end that says the spark plug interval is ONLY mileage-based.

Thanks. I figured as much and saw the schedule myself as well. It kinda rubbed me the wrong way. He was telling me it’s some $450-500 service that I should do now.

Maybe tell him for $450 - $500 you can do his mom right now, based on age, not mileage.

I wonder if there’s any way to track true engine mileage on the 4xe.

Of course the dealer and Stellantis will say that’s its vehicle odometer, but my engine mileage is probably 1/5 of the chassis mileage and I know which services apply to the chassis vs the ones that apply just to the engine.

Would also come in handy when buying used.

I can tell you that recommended service interval chart is bogus. It says to change the cabin air filter at 20,000 miles.

You want the truth? Here's the truth. 34,500 miles, 20 trails or more, on this cabin air filter and it was "fine".
