Waiting on a 2025 JLUR - 3.6L, 6-Speed Manual

Searching and learning and got some questions on service.

I want to do my own routine maintenance. Previously had a 2012 JK and did my own oil changes and filters. Sold it at just under 50,000 miles. Never did Diff or trans or any other fluid changes. Did not rotate my own tires. Decently handy and not afraid to learn on the fly.

I see the maintenance schedule in the manual and online.

For those of you who do our own work, what's your advice on DIY for JLUR maintenance plan? Or even set up for what you need to work on these rigs at home?

I take pictures of receipt sitting on the oil and filter and another of the mileage. I load oil change info into the jeep app under service and maintenance. I use the carfax app too because i can load pics of receipts in that app maintenance.

this. You can absolutely add your own maintenance records to Carfax. I also write the mileage on the receipts and keep them in a small folder in the passenger glove box. If anyone tries to tell you that it'll void the manufacturer's warranty, they're scamming you.

I did most of my DIY maintenance on my JLUS.
I’m considering installing a Baxter filter system on my new JLUR. Did you have a Baxter or thinking about it.

I keep a 3 ring with reciepts and a excel sheet I print and keep in the back. and use the car fax system. I had a 08 jk with the lifetime warranty. Chrysler did a rear at 165 ish never asked for receipts. Honestly when I was working in the shops you could tell who took care of maitnance. But not sure if things changed with required proof or not. And it depends on how your servicing shop as to how they want to play the game. Used to be lenient on that years ago. But now the manufacturers and warranty companies are making it hard because they want document proof. And some require more than just a receipt. They want vin# and other info on the repair receipt if they get picky. This is why you try and keep a good relationship with your service department in hopes to keep the "gentealmans agreement" of honesty. I'm not a fan of my local dealer for doing anything outside of coverd repairs and even then l question their ability in my mind.

🤔

Start turning more wrenches, and you might be allowed to use the title that you're claiming here. 😉 We hope that someone changed those fluids, etc. before the JK was sold.

A simple spreadsheet that plots the mileage points for your new Jeep's maintenance, and a Date column that tracks when the work was actually performed, would be an effective resource for the motivated DIYer.

Alternately, there's probably an app or 3 that makes the same task easier.
