Does everything get CarPlay standard?

That better be an error, because the Sahara is suppose to be the 'luxury' model. Why in the world would they give it the smaller screen?? People in Rubicons have more important things to look at like rocks to crawl over than a giant screen. The standard equipment list we posted (link below) shows that the Sahara gets the 7" display standard and Rubicon gets 8.4" display standard. The 7" and 8.4" displays are both running Uconnect 4 which comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. So, both the Sahara and Rubicon will have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay standard. The Sport gets the 5" display standard, but this can be upgraded to the 7" display.

You can not load topo maps. Anrdoid auto and carplay are directly linked to the system only via USB connection. both will work on either the 7.0 or 8.4 Only certain apps work for each system. So like your Starbucks app doesn't show up on the screen. Maps, messages, phone, Ibooks, etc. do.It would be interesting to know if you could load topo maps through the little media center section where the have slots for sd cards and a plug for auxiliary. This begs the question fo me a least I have an android pad that I loaded topo usa on the pad and with 128 gig sd card I have topo maps for everything Colorado and west. I use that in my jk. So here is where it gets weird and confusing with the new radios. I have an I phone so if I run apple car play will android apps work through the media center? Or if I get rid of the iPhone and get a android phone will the apps work. Or vice_versa if I load up an SDSU card with topo maps uh say from Garmin. Will they run on the screen ?
Now that would be something!

What is your preferred source for your topo maps of Colorado and the west???It would be interesting to know if you could load topo maps through the little media center section where the have slots for sd cards and a plug for auxiliary. That is correct. With the 8.4 you will be able to get a year trial of that service where the app can honk, lock, unlock, remote start , and send map destinations to the vehicle via your smartphone app.Hi Folks. Given that the top Infotainment is the Connect 8.4 and comes with Apple and Android native, can we expect the JL & JLU to work with a App for remote door unlocking, remote Starting, Emergency help etc? Let me know please as I have not been able to read anything on this yet or if you have links please advise. Thanks
