If the IPC is indeed f'ed, my next question is whether or not I can swap it out myself. Is the dealer required for anything beyond transferring the odometer reading over?

does the speedometer / tachometer work while you drive?

I also have the AlldataDIY subscription... it is a great tool!... forget about getting the USB MOPAR Authority service manual... expensive, super hard to use, and it is missing info...

The instructions don't say much about the programming side of things. The best I found was actually a 4xe recall, and it seems to skip the reprogramming part.

@roaniecowpony 's link seems to indicate that there may be some more hurdles.

I'm going to PM you the recall instructions since I can't find it online. There are two procedures, the first is the update one, then on page 5 it actually goes through the remove and replace procedure. Remember, this was for the 4xe, so there's some "high voltage" steps thrown in that may not apply.

I'm on LI as well if you want/need to scan it I have the Jscan app and the obd2 adapter and alldata subscription

For real.

What he’s saying about the auto roll forward seems to make sense with the Recall procedure. It basically says to save the original odometer in Witech, then just plug the new one in and pull the negative.

Yes, the speedo and tach work perfectly normal. So do the warning and indicator lights within them. It's just the lcd screen related stuff that's not being nice to me.

First, the flu was going around. Now, it's seems we are in IPC season. ?

I'm just remembering a recent hiccup with my dash screen. I got a nasty wobble several weeks ago, which has been addressed, and immediately noticed a sporadic flickering in the dash screen. It lasted the rest of an hour long drive, but went back to normal the next morning and has been fine until this whole thing happened. I wonder if something got shook loose, or maybe damaged, and finally bit the dust.

I looked up my JLUR cluster online. Something short of $700 IIRC. But you can add another 20% if the dealer sells it to you.
