Does it only work when you're using the built-in navigation or does it work all the time? Like how does it know where you are or does it matter? I don't know I've driven across quite a few states too and I have a hard time believing that all of the states that I've been in seem to be exempt from this system.
It doesnt matter if you are using the built in nav and it is unrelated to xm travel alerts too.

In early 2022 and thereafter, over-the-air Uconnect software updates, updated our UConnect systems.... those updated vehicles,(2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 JL's) , then had a newer Uconnect System.... a UConnect system that would receive alerts when they were near an emergency vehicle that is actively responding to an emergency.

With that said.... 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and early model year 2022 vehicles, that for whatever the reason, never received the UConnect update..... whether done by the factory, by a dealer Tech, or received over-the- air ... or by the vehicle owner doing a UConnect update .... will not have a vehicle that is Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS) ready.

JL's leaving the factory say after mid model year 2022, left the factory with a UConnect system that is Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS) ready...

Anyway, it's a UConnect related diddy, lets call it.

Many here have found that they stopped the EVAS alerts somehow, when disabling Travel Alerts with either JSCAN or a Tazer JL.

I know my 2018 JL, which is updated to Uconnect 40.1, does not get the Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS) alerts thanks to my turning off Travel Alerts with JSCAN.

It did get a couple of EVAS alerts... but then I originally did the deed with a Tazer JL.... it was bye bye to the EVAS alerts... .... A year or so later, I unmarried my Tazer JL but then disabled Travel Alerts with JSCAN so as not to get Traffic Alerts and or EVAS alerts.

For those that have a Emergency Vehicle Alert System (EVAS) ready JL that have not experienced an a EVAS alert... well, you just have not been in a region where the alerts are a thing lets say...

I have a 22 JTRD. I received my first notification 2 days ago several police and emergency vehicles passed but I didn't get the message until the large fire truck came along. It caught me off guard.

I could handle this every once in a while if it were a true emergency but in some of your situations that would annoy the crap out of me.

Disabling Travel Alerts with either a Tazer JL or with JSCAN will stop alerts.

With JSCAN:

Disable Travel Link:

ADAPTATION
---> Radio user settings --> SDAR Travel Link Feature Present On/Off--> Target Value = Deactivated

--------------------------------------------------------------------

With a Tazer JL .... In radio sub menu, chose disable "TravelLnk” >enable/disable SiriusXM TravelLink
Is this a live function or can I set and forget ?
Thanks

I have a ‘21 JLUR sitting in my driveway that received the OTA update in ‘23 that pushed this feature out and the notification system worked that day. Has ever since.
Prior to the update I never received an alert regarding a tow truck or emergency vehicle.

This "feature" doesn't even work properly when it does go off. I've had it trigger a few times and never have I seen any emergency vehicle nearby. Unless the thing is set to trigger an alert if an emergency vehicle is within miles...which is stupid for local traffic.

Wish there was a way to disable it similar to how you can disable wifi, etc. without having to buy something to do it. Most people don't even need a nanny like this. It's for those stupid "distracted" people who are taking butt selfies and tik tok lives while driving...and even then, I bet they don't even notice the alert ?

Travel Alerts that you turned off with a Tazer JL will stay turned off as long as you do not unmarry the Tazer JL. You can remove the Tazer JL itself and just not unmarry and Travel Alerts say turned off. With that said not a Live Feature of the Tazer JL.

With JSCAN you turn off Travel Alerts and they stay turned off until you use JSCAN or another programmer to turn Travel Alerts back on.

Think ... think hard before you turn off Travel Alerts. Remember you will also lose other Travel Link stuff...

As for me I interstate travel lots and lots .. but do not miss Travel Link because I use other apps that report Weather, Gas Prices, Traffic and such. I also use OK Google and an Amazon Alexa Echo Auto when traveling... I do not need or miss Travel Link ...

same here 2021 JLUR and I receive these warnings...wind advisory (not sure if that's the weather app in UConnect or haas alert), tow, emergency vehicles. Bought 7/21 and first Jeep Wave OLF in 5/22 the service ticket had a program update on it. I asked and no one knew what it was for but tech did it because it popped up on his system to do it. I googled and searched here and never could figure out what it was.

I can not tell you if it was the haas alert or not as I dont remember when I noticed having the alerts. They have been few and far between.
I do know that an adjoining municipality has invested in and uses the haas alert system. Though I don't venture there often. But in the area I frequently drive is where I have seen alerts. So I guess they use the haas alert also.

Just researching. I don't have current plans to turn it off. In my area it is not being abused and I've only had it alert me once in over two years. So far it's been a non issue.
Thanks for the advice though ?

I have never seen this on ANY of our vehicles. Is this an EU thing?

The weather alerts are just the sirius XM BS. I hate it just as much as you, near daily wind alerts. The only way to turn it off is to unsubscribe to XM AFAIK.

Is this an EU thing?
EU as in European Union? No, I’m in New York. Lol

It’s this -> https://www.haasalert.com/

Hardware and software on the vehicle side and a service a state, county or city signs up for. It’s probably done by state, but I haven’t dug deep enough to find out for sure.

I get at least 4-5 alerts per day, whether it’s an emergency vehicle, a tow truck that’s not there, a hazard, a f&$£€%ing pot hole in the road, you name it. I don’t need to be reminded of a disabled vehicle on the side of the road that I can clearly see ahead of me.
