I still use Google maps through Apple car play. Does this make me a navigation Neanderthal?

That should be what enables it.
I have owned my jeep four years and haven’t seen this option!!
Are you really saying I can get the turn directions while using Google Maps/Waze through CarPlay??
Definitely going to give this a try today if I have that option in my 8.4 uconnect4 in my 2021.

That’s an awesome addition! Usually only the factory navigation system showed directions on the center screen between the gauges.
2024 JLURX had waze going on the 12" display and all of a sudden the next turns started coming up in the middle of my speedo display where gas milage and all the 1 through 10 screens go. Is this new? If so I welcome it
That's pretty shitty though, people paid like $2,000 for a factory navigation system, and now any old schmuck with a 12-in screen is getting it. Kind of makes you think the navigation system is a worthless addition.

Way to go Jeep, congratulations on depreciating everyone's Jeep who purchased a more expensive version. I'm sure that I'll do wonders for the brand! :headbang:

I have had this function for over a year on my 2024 Rubicon X. You put it there in your setup. It is not new... just new for you because you changed a setting. Only works for 2024 and later....
Actually, not just on the brand new ones. Mine is a 2020 JLURD. And that has been there. You just have to turn it on in your settings.

If you have a 2024 and not using the onboard navigation you are 100% short changing yourself. It has much more than Waze has and is constantly updated... sometimes daily. I had Waze and it is not even close to what TomTom offers in our Navigation expecially if you explore the menue and options....
I am using the onboard nav on my 2024. When you say "constantly updated", specifically what do you mean by that?

Mine is still using the maps version from September 2022.

Coincidentally, while I was on connect.jeep.com yesterday I started seeing this on the Services tab:
Jeep Wrangler JL Did we just get dash navigation directions? 1728835225138-62

Which then brings me to this screen:
Jeep Wrangler JL Did we just get dash navigation directions? 1728835415698-wr

Clicking "Download" just results in a Javascript error in the browser console and never actually downloads anything.

I'll be following up with our friends at @JeepCares and post the results here. Case 91230922 has been created.
