Wouldn't it be nice if we could have detailed topo mapping displayed on the U-Connect screen...I use Avenza maps quite a bit and run it off my phone or tablet but it sure would be nice not to have another device bumping around.

Has anyone come up with a way to project this data (or any good topo mapping) onto the U-Connect screen??

I'm not an Android guy anymore, but Gaia uses Google Play and I think Android can connect to Jeep Carplay but never tried it so ask around. Plus the https://carplay2air.com is set for Android per website.
The problem is with Gaia. It's not Android Auto compatible at the present time and that's the only way that I know to run that type of app through UConnect. Thank goodness that my wife is an IPhone person.

Later,
Johnny

I found an old iPhone 4 that my son is giving me. I plan on wiping it out and use it on airplane mode to display Gaia. Let's see how that works...

From what I've read Google will not presently allow any Map apps they don't own onto Android Auto (they own Waze)

I think I would switch phones to get that Gaia system for trail mapping. I just got started a week or so back. Put in a few hours playing with the maps and overlays. There is a bit of a learning curve (especially for an old dinosaur like me) but......this thing is Pretty sweet.

There must be 100's of mapping overlays on everything from roads, trails and topo mapping, to hunting zones, mining claims and much more. The hardest part is determining which maps to use and which to ignore.

I've been watching some tutorials on YouTube......and those are a big help in operating.

I bought a Garmin GLO 2 for my set up so I can pull in the satellites for GPS tracking. Pretty affordable kit too!

Gotta say......I am so glad I switched to Apple products some years ago. My Phone, iPad and MacBook can be integrated to use this program. Very nice to do the planning on the Mac Book.....then download the map and print it off for backup. Then use my Iphone and Apple Car play to feed my big screen. Yousir.....Fogtech. ;).
