Casey LaDelle has some nice things to say about it.

Seems a great tool to have a carry bag and small hitch mount to tuck it under the rear spare. Can't image taking that much space in the cabin with it (not to mention the rattles, rolling, or safety risks).

Yeaaaaaaah, I'm thinking at 70lbs, it's more than I want to haul around in the jeep on the trails. Maybe for a support truck carrying all your spare parts and stuff. Thats where I had my aluminum 3 ton floorjack when I got a flat.

Dude, I'm a flat tire magnet! I seem to hit and pick up everything. I just bought a brand-new full set of tires for my daily commuter, on my way to work, (same day) I ran over one of those steel plates for road construction, BAM! blew out a brand-new tire on the side wall no less! I've had blow outs on the interstate at 70 mph for no flipping reason. It freaks me out so bad I don't know if my poor old heart can take anymore. I may have developed PTSD from it idk. :crying:
Years ago I damaged a tire on the first run at Panamint Valley Days. Had to race to Ridgecrest before closing time to buy a spare since CAL4W required a good spare for all runs.

On the "Which jack" question, I think ideally you'd like to have numerous options. But the world isn't that simple. We have limited space, limted money, personal preference, priorities, etc.

But I think that jeepers are "get er done " people. What the best jack is will vary as much by the person using it, as much as the situation. Get what you like and try it in realistic situations.

Which brings up another issue. I'm not a big guy, I'm old, with arthritis and my 37s are well over 100 lbs. I can get the spare down, but putting the flat back up on the carrier is a two person job for me. I have an idea to make up a little rope hoist to quickly attach to the Teraflex spare carrier.
Appears to be reversible so that the hook can face towards the vehicle and not away from it:

I carry a Safe Jack setup with extensions for uneven terrain and a baseplate since the Hi-Lift doesn’t work great with stock bumpers. Also swapped to a 3/4-inch impact wrench for faster wheel removal. For anyone running heavy-duty tires like on a dually or service truck, https://pneusquebec.net/pneus-camions-lourds/ has some solid options if you're up north. Found their listings helpful when I upgraded last year.

I see it's been a while since you've posted, but I just want to ask—has anyone tried using a hi-lift jack with a lift-mate on the trail for tire changes? I carry both, but I'm wondering if it's more hassle than it's worth compared to a bottle jack. Curious to hear what others have settled on after more trail time.
A HiLift for a tire change is more often than not, the long way around the barn. Bottle jacks are lighter, smaller, and simple to use. But they have their hazards too. Having to get under the vehicle is the main one. I have a Sprinter van bottle jack, 2 hydraulic strut jacks (ARB style), HiLift, 24" scissor jack, several floor jacks, including a little 1 1/2 ton Pro Eagle that is my go-to jack. No one jack will be the best for all situations. But the little Pro Eagle floor jack comes out more than all the others by far.

A month or two ago, I was almost home from a trip to AZ, when I saw some Caltrans guys struggling to jack a 1 ton Ford truck with a little mechanical jack in a gas station. It looked sketchy as hell. I had the ProEagle floor jack in the Jeep. I asked my wife if it was ok to stop and help. She ok'd it. I pulled out the floor jack and my M18 impact before I even introduced myself. The Pro Eagle made it quick, easy, and safe. They really appreciated the hand.

Uhhh…yeah…about that sprinter van jack. I’m still patiently waiting for you to machine a spud out of aluminum to accept the Safe Jack attachments. I’m hoping some day it will get to the top of your to do list. Then again you probably didn’t know I had this on your to do list.

The 1.5 ton Pro Eagle as on sale for very close to the price of a HF 1.5 ton Badland
