Yea, Kingston is fantastic. However it is closed for the winter. The entry by Rollinsville was impassible with snow a week ago.

We're planning to run it again in the spring.

Beautiful. It’s on the list. So damn excited. Go my recovery kit, toolkit, survival kit, ordered door hinge protector and rubber to put on the fenders to prevent rocks, ordered seats covers and soon to be floor mats. All I need is a damn Jeep. Any day now, I am told.

I am going to start looking for a winter wheeling spot as soon as I get it.....

Let me know when you go! I’m sure me and a couple buddies would be interested in going.

It probably won't open back up until spring but absolutely, let's do that. Vice Versa too, hit me up if you and your buddies want a Louisiana Redneck to laugh at on the trail.. ;)

Many will be closed this time of year. Switzerland is hit or miss based on drifting snow on the trail. When summer comes around the trail from Caribou is fun. One goes over to Eldora and the other goes over to the Rainbow Lakes. Of course you can start on the Rainbow Lakes side and go clear to Eldora.

If you want more of challenge the is Coney Flats/St Vrain. The hiking at the top of St Vrain is great. If you'd doing St Vrain, you could always stay and do Iron Clads Plane Crash as well.

I did Switzerland last September, as the leaves were changing. IMO that’s the absolutely best time to go there.

I’ve been wanting to try both Coney Flats and Middle St Vrain but I didn’t have a winch or a group to go with. Now I have the winch and recovery kit so I’m definitely up for that trail this spring/summer.

Just hit Switzerland on Saturday (1/5) in my JLUS with 33” KO2s with a buddy in an ‘82 CJ7 and the same shoes, the main trail is a little snowy but super easy with some more challenging off shoots. Stopped at Sugarloaf to enjoy a quick hike and the nice weather, made for a great Saturday.

FYI if you're a fan of TFL Truck on YouTube, check out their "Cliffhanger 2.0" which is off the Switzerland Trail, not too far off of the north side of Gold Hill Rd. Here's a video of it.

Up to 6 inches of snow is in the forecast for that area on Friday. Depending on the tires you're running, the trail should be doable still but you'll need to be much more careful.

I'd recommend downloading the GPX directions from Trails Offroad and uploading it to your Google Maps. Makes it much easier to know where to go when the trail isn't as visible.

Darn it. Why do you got to go and pee in my Cheerios like that? I guess that means I will just stay home and put on my R3 hinge guards.

I’ve waited for my damn Jeep for 16 weeks so what’s another weekend to get some trail time in?

I like it. You are a timely feller. Wife had surgery about a week ago and didn’t feel up to it today. Appt moved to tomorrow about 10:00. I am about as excited as a three year old on a Christmas morning. Quadratec delivered my compressor and HiLift OffRoad Kit today. Trying to get ready to go and when I do, don’t want to be that dude.
