I'm sure you are within spec. With respect to caster it should be 4.8 degrees (+ or - 1 degree). Can you share what your caster spec was with the Daystar kit? I just curious...mostly because I'm think I may want 5 to 5.4 degrees, as shown in the video you posted.
I'll need to dig around for my print out to be sure but I think it was just under 5.

Kieth and Chad, THANK YOU!!!! Both very helpful responses. All my Rams and Dakotas before were IFS, so this is my first solid axle vehicle and it's a learning experience for sure.
Kieth, that video was quite helpful, especially his diagram. That explained the offset/shift perfectly. Makes complete sense now. I'm actually kind of surprised the Mopar kit doesn't come with a track bar, or some sort of relocation bracket/block.
Chad, thanks for clarifying on the alignment too. After thinking about how the wheels are mounted to the axle, it makes sense that toe or camber won't change. I actually watched that video before about the steering fix, even though mine steers fine. I think I'll likely get a kit with control arms to keep my camber where it was. I assume that I'm less likely to have the problem anyway since the Sahara has a bit more angle (5° I think), but I'd like to keep it that way.
Anyone know how camber can be checked dyi? It might be interesting to check it and compare to how it looks after a lift, to see how close the new control arms keep it to stock setting.

@Shots In addition to what the diagram in the video showed (the track bar dropping and shifting the axle), not how the front diff is not centered. When the axle drops, the drive shaft also drops and an off center angle

Any ideas on why this kit isn’t offered with shock extensions?

They are are. The shock extensions aren't mentioned on the Daystar page but they are in the photo.

I found a similar issue with Rock Krawler's website, where the 2.5" Stage 2 kit product descriptions omitted the bump stop extensions, yet they were in the photo. I chatted with them to confirm. If you're really interested in the DayStar kit, just call them

Thank you, very helpful. I’m pretty locked in on Daystar if they come with the shock extensions. Just need to find out if I also need to buy larger bump stops separately to clear 37s or not.

While looking for the best price, another Daystar product popped up - looks like the same kit but with shocks? Not officially on the DS site yet, but multiple retailers have it listed. Anyone heard of it?

$359.99 Without shocks (KJ09177KV):

Interested in this as well...it doesn't say what shocks are included. I was considering going with the adjustable rancho 9000 so I can soften it up on the road.

Shock extenders are included. 2" bumpstops from and rear are included. I paired mine with Falcon 2.1 shocks.

Thanks! Great info. I’ll have to add taller bumps. Looks like RK has pricey adjustable ones (about $175 total), or there are super cheap ones going for about $25 all in.

RK adjustable rear:

RK adjustable front:

Zone Offroad cheap 3”:

Anyone know what causes the huge price range in bump stops? Are the pricier ones worth it?

I'm interested in this lift as well but I'm curious about the shocks. I can't believe they're going to be any good for only an additional $40.

Hey Chad, I know it's been a few months since you did this. Are you still happy with it? Did you get the Rustys offroad track bars, and do you have part numbers for them?

Sorry to revive an old thread but this a setup I am considering.

Do you have the 0-1.5" lift or the 2-3.5" Falcon shocks?

How has the ride been with the setup on and offroad?

Sorry I'm a few years off on this topic lol. I just bought this same Daystar 2 inch kit for my JL Sport S as well as 305/70r17 tires. I'm going to use the stock gray polished wheels and I'm not sure if I need wheel spacers or not? I'm hoping I don't because I don't trust them. Thank you.

You're positive wheel spacers aren't needed? I'm using the stock 7.5" wide Jeep wheels and my new tires are almost 34s. Thank you.
