@martoaj , Thank you. But still doesn't says anything. What modules are the reprogramming and why? My Service guy is very straight forward with me. I'll stop by soon and get the real scoop along with dozen glazed doughnuts.
These general service bulletins are never going to list which specific modules are being updated or precisely what work will be done to the level that satisfies nerds on a forum. Remember these are sent out to every single owner in the affected group ... they have to write for the lowest common denominator. The service advisors at the dealership are the ones who will know what's specifically being done.

I finally got to drive my 4xe a bit since getting the 23A update. The only change that I have noticed is the hybrid / electric / esave buttons are now latching through restarts.

According to dealer, 3 modules are updated.

  • AHCP from 68614243AB to 68614243AC
  • PCM from 68614847AB to 68614847AC

Forgive my ignorance, what do they each stand for and do?

Oh, that's great. I will take mine in too then. Wrangler loosing last selected mode after a restart has been one of my biggest pet peeves.

Now if they only also fixed the center console screen to go to the last used feature after restart that would be great... so annoying that I have to click through to get back to map view every time I get in the car

I should also clarify. the Mode latching is for hybrid and electric modes only - Esave does not latch and will default back to hybrid on restart.

Thanks for the clarification, that's good enough for me. I want it to latch to E mode. I always switch it to E when I get in the car....

I've put on about 1500 miles and just finally had to refuel my gas tank for the first time :)

I assume this update has the same concern as the recent recalls on thee 2021-2022 models, and they need to wait the five minutes after disconnecting batteries to avoid bricking the HV battery?

I haven't heard of any issues on the this 23A similar to the major complication with recalls on earlier models?

That's awesome since I always try to stay full electric (only a 11 mile RT commute), but for some of us we want a fix to "Electric mode temporarily unavailable" since every - time I step on the gas pedal to get extra power to pass someone - I leave electric mode and I can not get back in.
