Cupholder Removal

Is there a way to replace the cupholder without removing and replacing the entire console piece around the shifter?
Not sure why Jeep didn’t keep the old JK design where they just popped out.

Jeep has a habit of this nonsense, the JK cupholders were great, the one in the JL is a nuisance to clean.
