SadRobot is at Harbor Freight so often, she gets the same reaction as Norm walking into Cheers.
and the worst part is every time I buy something they ask if I want to become a member there and I always say "no" thinking I'll never be going back there so what's the point?

I'm bringing back this old thread because now I'm in the market for a new creeper. I have this one and the wheels just never roll right and get locked up so I never use it. I also kept getting my hair caught in the wheels.

Yesterday I decided to forego the creeper and just crawled under the Jeep and long story short - had to cut 3 inches of my hair off because I couldn't get the motor oil out of it from my oil spill. ?

Any suggestions for a high quality creeper?
Hi Robot.
Being a senior citizen, I've owned several sets of tools and several creepers in the 50 years I've been working on vehicles. I've owned some creepers like the one you describe, that were so cheap and poorly designed that they weren't even worth using, so you just lie on the ground. Then, about 7 years ago I was paying for my son's tuition as he went through mechanics school to become an ASE certified mechanic. While in school he was able to buy Matco tools for 1/2 price. So I bought him a tool set for his graduation present. And why just buy one set when for twice the price you can buy two sets. I bought myself a new tool box and a complete tool set from Matco, and also bought a Matco creeper. In the time since then it has been sooo much nicer working on vehicles because the tools I use are top quality and work better than the usual cheapest I could find tools I used before. I think it was worth the investment.

The creeper I use is this one, if you are interested.

Just kind of an interesting update on the Matco creeper I mentioned on 5/7/24. Yesterday, I was installing a set of semi-truck style bump stops (Timbrens) on my Ram 3500 dually, to help it carry a large slide-in pickup truck camper I own. My truck was unloaded and backed into the garage while I worked on it. I had just finished my work and was putting away my tools when my wife got home and came into the garage. I got distracted, showing her what was new that I had installed on the truck, and trying to explain why I thought it was going to work better. Then I went into the house and got a drink, and then came back out to drive the truck out of the garage. Everything looked to be put away on the driver's side of the truck, so I got in and drove it out. The only problem was that I had left the creeper on the garage floor just in front of the passenger side rear duals, and the 8000 lb truck drove right over the creeper. I was cussing myself for being stupid and was certain I had just ruined my good creeper. I got out and checked it over, and with the exception of the new tire tracks across the top of the creeper it appeared to be fine. I even got down on the creeper and rolled it around a bit, and it still works well.

Now that's a tough creeper, LOL.
