I got the great news over the weekend that my RubiconXR has finally arrived at Granger! The catch - my wife is 8.5 months pregnant now and isn’t too keen on me making the 13 hour round trip to get it…..now or right after the baby is born. When I ordered it last October I thought I would have received it several months ago and never imagined I’d be dealing with this timing.

The only solution I can come up with is to have a shipping company bring in my trade-in and haul back my Jeep. Anyone have experience with this that can give me some recommendations?

A lot of dealers have shipped the customers their new vehicles. Have you contacted the dealer to see if they have done this and who they used? Just an idea

Pay a friend to drive down and back. It'll be cheaper than two hot shots and easier to coordinate times. If it was only one way and you didn't care on the ship dates it would be a different story.

Please learn from my mistake/laziness. After waiting 6 months for my 392, it showed up at Chapman last week. In a rush to get a transporter and a decent rate I went to Uship.com and picked Montway because they had a low rate and a quick pick up. The problem is the actual transporter doesn't work for Montway. Montway is a broker and the actual shipper will be whoever. So the transporter picked it up from Chapman and drove it 5 minutes away and parked it, where it's been sitting for 6 days. The driver says it will be here (Florida) tomorrow. Unless he is driving straight here, I find that highly unlikely.

The moral of the story is if you are going to use a shipper, work directly with the actual shipper and get a delivery time guarantee.
