Hi all! My ‘24 is finally scheduled for delivery (although not holding my breath the date stays the same). Considering paying to have it shipped from Ourisman to TN to save the mileage, fuel, time, etc. Any one have recent experience with a carrier they would recommend? Or any you would NOT recommend using?

thanks!

Although it was an Avalon, not a Jeep, I had a great experience with Bruce of Above the Rest Auto Transport. He is a broker, not a carrier, but he is a super straight shooter who gave me good advice and delivered excellent, prompt, reasonably priced service when I had to ship my mother's car. He prides himself on having a five-star Yelp rating in a business in which that is not so common.

Bruce is amazing. He actually reached out and provided a price last night. Once i sign papers I just need to ping him to get it scheduled and on its way. Thanks for the recommendation!

Glad you got sorted. But man, giving up a road trip to let a stranger handle your rig first just seems wrong. I’ve bought several vehicles out of state (including my JL) and looked forward to the road trip back every time.

I know… it was tough to not road trip this one. I was actually planning to spend some time in that area but work has now gotten in the way.

Being it's a brand new rig maybe consider enclosed transport? would be a shame to get its first scratch on a carrier.

That's a good call, just pinged him to see what the price difference would be. Has to be worth a couple hundred bucks - afraid it might be a lot more than that though. Right now it's $650.

so it’s $300 more for an enclosed trailer. Thoughts on whether or not that’s worth it?

My dealer sent a driver to bring mine from Akron Ohio To Tennessee. 580 miles. He drove it. I figured if no check engine lights we should be good. And it was and still is

I got a quote from Montway to ship from MD to MA $650 open carrier. I can get a flight from BOS to BWI for $94 so I'm hoping to Fly n Drive. Just depends on when it will be ready and how far we are into Winter. I want to get the undercarriage treated with waxoil before it gets hit with road salt.

I found this thread a couple weeks ago and thought I'd share my experience with Bruce at Above the Rest.

Reached out to him while I was working out the contract details with a dealer out of state. He replied by email within a couple hours with a quote to ship a Rubicon X from South Carolina to Arizona in an enclosed trailer. Quote was for $1750 ($150 to him, $1600 to the shipper). He said it would take between 5 to 7 days once it was picked up.

Once the contract was done and dealer paid, Bruce put the request out on a Thursday. Jeep was picked up Friday morning in South Carolina. I was told to expect the Jeep by Monday or Tuesday. I had the Jeep by Noon on Sunday. I had to shuffle some plans because it came in early!

A couple things to note. Bruce confirmed the shipper will not provide any updates during the shipping process. I was able to use the Jeep app on my phone to connect to the vehicle to verify its location, but the connection was sporadic. I also paid the shipper in person via Zelle. Overall great experience and would use Bruce again.
