in traffic for close to an hour, bumper to bumper crawl, hot & sunny in the city

You didn’t mention what your engine temp readings were, but from the statement above, you were most likely running with the A/C on. And since it hasn’t been asked yet, are you sure this isn’t just normal A/C condensation (water)?
The fluid appeared slightly reddish to me, checked all my fluids, while i waited for engine to cool down somewhat.

Only the pink rad fluid was lower, maybe 1/4"-1/2" in the reservoir. I picked up a jug of rad fluid to keep in the jeep, just incase i lost more fluid enroute to 1st destination. Cranked heat to max, while i drove there with no further fluid loss.

Recalled to my horror, i had read reports of people mixing rad fluids and screwing their engines. Didnt add any of the gas station rad fluid to jeep.

Newish jeep for me, have not had AC on ever. Tried AC today after my Jeep warmed up, while watching temperature gauge. Temperature dropped 1-2 degrees and then climbed back up.

Sorry I drive with my speed visible on dash, not coolant temperature, didnt even think to get a reading at the time.

Have bought some proper premix coolant for the Jeep today, and plan on topping up reservoir, tomorrow.
