I installed both the Mishimoto aluminum radiator and the trans cooler at the same time. I went to a reputable radiator shop that's been in business 30 years. Cost me a bit over a 1K for the install. Replaced all radiator hoses that I had already purchased back in 2020. Kept the old ones for spares. Around town definitely noticeably cooler. (oil and coolant) I'm on the desert floor temperatures have been consistently over 100°. On the highway heading into a head wind or any kind of grade I'm experiencing the same high temps. (Oil and coolant) I do not have a Tazer yet, but now I will pull the trigger. I just don't understand at highway speeds anything over 50 to 60 mph the oem electric auxiliary fan won't run. Needs to be somehow manually turned on Via the Tazer. Unless anyone else has suggestions on how I can manipulate the oem fan. It constantly kicks on around town and doesn't allow the engine coolant to go anything over 210° and the oil at 215 ° it kicks down the coolant in a matter of seconds to 206° so I know the radiator is very efficient when using the fan. The International that I drive occasionally at work operates the OEM auxiliary electric fan ( very loud even route louder than our Wranglers) at all speeds always keeping the temperatures on the lower end never allowing them to go as high as our Eco Diesel Wranglers go. Never saw any trouble whether towing, we're on a steep long grade with the trans temp. Never goes over so far 197° . That's the highest. To me it just seemed like a no-brainer to go after both and the instoller at the radiator shop agreed. I could honestly say if you don't plan on a Tazer or anything of the sort to run the OEM auxiliary fan while traveling highway speeds, grades, headwinds, Etc don't spend the money you will not see a difference. Only exception when you crest the grade and start on a slight downhill, the coolant temp, oil temp. drops like a rock. Just as if the fan kicked on much quicker than the OEM radiator would.

She never came back to finish the story! Were you guys mean?

Or did I miss it?

@Jwobes
Turns out the radiator was caked with mud on the inside of it from over a year ago. Had to remove the fan to access it property to clean it. I just did this on Friday 9/8. It really excelled in overheating in the smokey mountains and I was so pissed off I had to get to the bottom of it after all. Hosed it off for over an hour and no overheating since. I was absolutely floored at how much mud melted off the backside of it. I hope that was the fix to this issue. I’m so mad at myself for not doing it sooner.

hey!

when you say "I'm experiencing the same high temps. (Oil and coolant)", what temps are we talking about?
