At least in mine, I'm referring to the on-screen read-outs in the instrument display - not a hard gauge. cycling through the arrows on the steering wheel I forget what number it is.
Oh yeah I know about that. I thought you swapped the coolant gauge out lol.

Just heard back from dealer: cracked plastic coolant reservoir and line allowing air into the system causing it to boil over. It explains why temperature gauge, coolant temps and oil temps didn't rise. They had no trouble with the fans. And – approved under warranty. I'll circle back after driving him home w/o incident, but I'm satisfied with this explanation.

Well that's the best outcome you could have had I imagine.

I was waiting to hear what it was before I mentioned this. This was a known problem on the 18s but I would have thought it was fixed by now. apparently not :(

That’s awesome! Easy fix!
side note. I didn’t read anything in my warranty. They did send us a letter stating that our coverage was changing and we’d get a discount on upgrading to the better warranty but was under the impression that it was going to cover interior electronics also and we have a separate warranty for our interior protection. So opted not to go for it. Little did I know it was to cover everything on the vehicle including fluids and gaskets. My current one doesn’t cover gaskets but covers fluid.

Yes, best case scenario - for a change ;-).
Devil's in the details, huh? Here's hoping you'll be covered for exactly what's needed down the road.

Yes, I suppose so. Here's hoping you get yours sorted out soon too.

For anyone in the Northern Colorado area I can recommend Loveland (Brandon) DCJR. Just had my first experience with their service team and they did a great job. After Mt. St. Coolant blew Wednesday due to a cracked plastic tank and hose they got me in fast and fixed me up fast. They even cleaned up the engine bay as best they could. Seems so often only tales of poor service are reported. This is an attempt to even things out - good service needs more attention.
