I am having this software update done tomorrow. I have a 2019 2.0 e-torque. It is for the PCM and PIM. Has anyone had this done? I only have one 12v battery. After I replaced it my stop/start stopped working. I get the message stop/start not available battery charging. 12v battery shows 14.1 v. This has been going on for around a year. Hoping this update might help this.

I just got the recall letter in the mail the other day but haven't scheduled the update yet. I also have 2.0 e-torque but my start/stop still works when I don't have the button pushed, which oddly enough, stays in the 'off' position full time now. I did have the same message about start/stop not available a little over a year ago but replaced my 12 V battery and it's been fine. If you can, update your post if the PCM flash fixes your issue.

They just finished the update. I am about to pick up my Jeep. I'll let you know.

Who knows, Maybe you get someone that actually knows something there that can tell you what the update actually does.

Just picked it up. My start/stop issue wasn't resolved (I didn't tell them about it). I just had the software update done. The start/stop issue started with the new battery. I think that's what it is. They washed the Jeep which was really nice. I didn't notice any difference in how the Jeep drives since the update.

I got the letter, but with no issues with my Jeep I figured no rush on getting it done since the explanation of what it actually fixes is lacking.
I was hoping it might solve my start/stop issue. That's why I jumped on it. Also my condo is next door to the Jeep Dealer.

Did you replace your 12V battery with an AGM battery? The reason I ask is when I would occasionally have the start/stop issue it was with my old battery that was in the Jeep when I bought it used, and it wasn't an AGM. Haven't had it since I replaced battery with an AGM one.

This is the battery I installed. As you can see it is an AGM!

Sucks that the flash didn't fix that issue.... I'll probably wait awhile before scheduling it since I really don't have anything PCM related that's an issue..... plus, unmarrying the Tazer and all to go to a dealership is such a PITA.....

Maybe you'll get lucky and after a few times cycling power it will clear up, it's a Jeep after all... lol

I have the Y40 notice also but never experienced issues with start stop. Using an optima yellow top battery though.

Came here to see who had this Y40 done....

I have '21 3.6 w/ Etorque and haven't had any issues. I am always hesitant to get things like this done when nothing appears to be wrong with the vehicle.

Same here; nothing really "wrong" with my Jeep, so I'm not sure why I'd bring it in to have the Y40 done. I have an '18 2.0T with eTorque. Since it's affecting 2.0 and 3.6 vehicles it has to be something related to the programming with eTorque, but that's all we know.

Just picked mine up from getting corrosion fixed and they did the recall as well. Looks like it’s just emissions related. Had an hours drive back home and didn’t notice any change.

Just going to copy paste this here directly from the recall:

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software
calibration on about 287,665 of the above vehicles
may fail to properly monitor certain emission-related
diagnostic functions as required by California and
Federal regulations. In addition, the Power Inverter
Module (PIM) diagnostics allow for correct malfunction
detection but prevents natural fault healing after repair
actions. This issue prevents the clearing of permanent
fault codes (PFC)s in the PIM which is required by
regulation. This update will also address Diagnostic
Trouble Codes (DTC)s and PFCs (P0010, P0013,
P0020, P2135, P0121, P0221) that do not heal on the
2020 model year (RU) PHEV as well as a POC4A that
will not set unless communication fault U0624 is
present on the 2021 model year (RU) PHEV.
In other words almost purely emissions related recall due to a software bug preventing certain DTCs from being cleared or for certain DTCs from being thrown. It should have no effect on performance.
