Ok, call me privileged and spoiled. I've owned enough other cars that have a nightlight on the console or LED rings in the cup holders so you can see the drink you are grabbing or other stuff in the console at night. I can't see anything in the console or around it at night in the Wrangler. Anyone found any soft spot lights or other creative ideas they have so I can grab stuff I've shoved in the drink holders without turning on the door lights?

My 2020 JLUR has lights for the cup holders that are controlled by the wheel next to the headlight switch. Just figured they all had that.
My 2022 JLUR does not have those lights. In fact the passenger foot well doesn't even have a light. The wheel next to the headlight switch controls only the driver foot well light which never has seemed right

UPDATE 2/22/23 - after playing around with the rolling switch, I can get both my footwell lights and cup holder lights to come on. But they only come on intermittently when the switch is about 1/2 way between full bright and off. I presume I have a bad switch.

Wonder if you could retrofit your cup holders with 2020 components? Don't know enough to know if that's possible.

You can get lightup or glow in the dark coasters, but those would not be ideal, I'm sure. We have little led light strings -- controlled by a switch. Those could work, and would probably be easy to "blend." I'm thinking you want something hardwired, though? I hope you find something to work. It's funny how we (humans) become accustomed to things like that!

I came so close to finding you something... ? https://accentglowled.com/product/wrangler11-cupholder/

Maybe these? https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08SQGCV5F/ They aren't wired, but they are supposed to be automatic.

Odd. I'm pretty sure the wheel rolls up and then clicks on my MY23 turning on a light in both driver and passenger footwells. I don't think it would give the OP the illumination they're looking for, but at least it's something.

A '23 392 should have light-up cupholders. They're not super-bright, but they're there. Try messing with the wheel to the right of the headlight dial. Full up, past the detent is all interior lights on including the 'dome'. Next notch down should be max brightness, with anything below getting dimmer. Afaik, this new single wheel (used to be a double) now controls the dash and gauge lighting, footwell lighting and I think the cupholders as well.

Otherwise, the only easy solution I can think of would be to buy a short gooseneck USB lamp to plug into the dash USB port. The only downsides would be if you're already using that port, having to leave the flap/cover open and iirc, the light staying on for 30 minutes (or however long the time-out period is after ignition off). Also found a neat USB mini light, but not sure if that will put the light in the right direction (or add too much light).

Those are cool, but I think I would want a basic on/off switch for them.

There's quite a few with on/off and some with dimming, but most of those seemed too long, where you'd eventually bump and break the light, or worse, the USB port itself. I have a few that I use for TV/monitor backlighting and the auto-on is convenient imo. The lighting on mine isn't super-bright and fairly directional, but I could see it still being annoying while driving at night.

Here's a longer on/off one..

Hmm. I wonder how well that would work in the center console USB port?

Probably would, but you might need to curl it around some due to the length. Or did you mean poking out of the console? Think you'd need to dremel an access notch for that and even still, it'd probably end up being too short from there.

Completely forgot about my awesome mini keychain light. For the most magnificent cupholder lighting in this form-factor, the Nitecore TINI 2 with their gooseneck USB CSTAND will give you on/off, 1 to 500 lumen, and an actual rechargeable flashlight to be used anywhere when needed. Pricey solution for just shy of $50, but I love mine (never actually thought of a reason to buy the CSTAND until now).

I picked up a bunch of these little white ones from Temu for 36¢ each. They work perfectly.

Good ideas, thanks.

I have a floor light on driver and passenger. I'd rather have a console light than a floor light. I know where to stick my feet and if I dropped something I could just turn on the overhead light.

There's one wheel on the left of the dash. I believe 22' and older have two, one or interior light strength and one for dash lights. My one controls both, which again is not a big deal but annoying since I know it was there last year.

No lights in the cup holders, only the footwells.

The Jeep specific cup lights look awesome, but not for $50+.. I'll probably try one of those $10 ones from Amazon to see how they work. The 392 has Uconnect 4, so I need the USB for the phone if I use car play or android. I rarely do, but not sure I want something sticking out either. That very small USB light may be an option too since its so small (looks like a USB mouse dongle).

That's weird. My 2022 JLURD has the light at the bottom of the cup holder plus the lights for both footwells. Maybe it's part of the convenience group?

Note that mine has two wheels to the right of the lights dial.
