Picked up my new 24 4xe Willys in Houston this morning. Start driving to San Antonio, and 85 miles later, bam, chip in the windshield. And then 10 miles later it spreads like a Playmate. 3rd wrangler never even had a chip in the windshield before.

Almost ditto, rock impact a couple weeks after getting the jeep.
I had it replaced. I recall that the jeep warranty--good for initial milage and time--covered it except for $50.

Well 1760 for a new windshield. Dealer I called said they have to take photos and send it to Stellantis to see if they will cover it. The warranty language is very vague and is written so they can deny it any time they want really. I wonder if @JeepCares has any advice or information on this?
Put in your information for Houston and Safelight is $645.00 cash pay....Your insurance will also cover minus deductible. Quote based on 2024 Wrangler with safety enhancements needed recalibration.. I used them for a 2023 Yukon Denali..great job and all features work fine.

Wranglers don't need a recalibration. The sensor isn't connected to the windshield.

When you get a new windshield, consider Exoshield. It’s a thick film applied to the outside of the glass. Mine has taken a few hits and no damage.
I bought the Exoshield and then before I could put it on, I got a big crack...

It's not likely but worth a shot. I bought GG and replaced it with a standard windshield. Clearly it doesn't work. I'm ready for my third windshield.

Damn that’s a bummer. I’ll go to my dealer when I get back in town on Monday.

to quote Mopar: Yes, you might need to recalibrate your Jeep Wrangler's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) after replacing the windshield. Windshield repairs or replacements can affect the positioning of ADAS sensors and cameras, which can lead to improper calibration. If the ADAS equipment isn't calibrated, important safety features might not work at all or might malfunction, which could be dangerous

gee wizz, I've never had a duck or a cracked windshield. ... and I have a Gladiator I bought new in 2020.

Maybe mine is defective... 😳

I have to think positive. Maybe someone will throw a duck at my windshield. :like:

You're safe because it's not really a Jeep, it's more of a Ram midsize pickup.

You get one free replacement with Gorilla Glass.

It looks like that was one hell of a rock. You'll need to get accustomed to having your windshield getting cracked. The angle is more raked than in a JK, but they're still pretty damn steep. And, of course, do all the typical stuff to try to keep from being hit.

Note that, from what I understand, Gorilla Glass isn't any better than standard glass on preventing damage like this. It's just to keep objects from making it through to the passenger compartment.
The only problem is that the crack on his windshield appears to be larger than 3”. This gives Mopar the opportunity to deny his warranty for gorilla glass. Not saying they will but sounds like they have the upper hand.

You didn't try to get the GC replacement covered by their warranty? Assuming, of course, you're talking about what originally came on your Jeep.

Clearly it doesn't work. I'm ready for my third windshield.
Clearly both were able to be broken.

My next windshield will probably be standard glass. From what I understand, GG isn't designed to be resistant to being broken. It's designed to prevent things from entering the passenger compartment.

Yeah, that's their out. Mine was across the windshield and covered, but your dealer might be less forgiving.
