Do The Brake Lights Ever Come On With Full Regen On 4XE?

Anyone know if the brake lights come on with the full regen setting on the 4XE? I test drove one the other day and there was a couple times it basically made the Jeep come to a full stop at a stop sign. You would think the brake lights would have to come on at some point to avoid getting rear ended. Very curious how that works.
