When I got mine last summer, I really wanted Chief, but it was already discontinued. Hydro Blue was my next choice (and what I went with), but I also considered Snazzberry, and Sarge.

I think there's way too many white, grey, black vehicles on the road these days. I wanted something with color.

I picked Hydro because it popped the most. It's bright and fun and I haven't met anybody who hasn't loved it.

I agree with the contrasting top and (for me) fenders. All color matched becomes too much. Between Hydra blue and Sarge Green...Sarge Green is a win. If it was still Ocean Blue, then that would be a harder choice.

I'm partial to the Blues! I had the same response to the Deep Ocean blue...Saw it in the lot and the sun was glistening off the metal flakes and was like WoW! I still feel that way...never thought I'd love it as much as I do.

If this was an option for me, I'd probably take it in a heart beat. I love that darker blue. I think thats why I'm more on the fence of the hydro blue, its lighter.

Hydo shifts color in the sun light...so does the Ocean blue (sometimes it looks almost purple) but I have seen the Hydro and although its lighter it sometimes looks like the Ocean blue. I know it sounds extreme but you can see the variations in the pictures posted. The Hydro color changes with the light. I Have always wanted a Green Jeep probably just because I loved Tonka's when little and If I was gonna get one it would be the Sarge....The Green they released on the JK I did not care for.

I ordered my Rubicon a few days ago; had planned to go with Sarge (for a couple years now) but last minute switched to Earl
(color match fenders, black dual top, tan leather). I’ve only owned white vehicles previously and wanted something different, but decided Sarge was a little dark (will be moving to property with a gravel drive). I would think Hydro would be more forgiving than Sarge in terms of dust/dirt.
Maybe make a list of pros/cons that pertain to your circumstances. Or flip a coin…you’ll know how you really feel once you get that outcome.
Excited to see Earl in person! Good luck deciding…if you know you like both colors, you probably can’t go wrong.

I have a feeling it will come to this lol.

I really wish I could see the Earl in the wild.

What makes the upkeep easier?
I like to try and keep my Jeep looking good and the lighter blue color doesn’t show the dirt as much as a darker color and requires less attention. I find that I am spending more time with the darker color I have now than when I had the Sierra Blue. There seems to be a lot of Sarge Green compared to the Hydro Blue, to me that makes the blue more unique.

For me, it came down to either Snazzberry or Hydro and like you, I was struggling with making a decision. I sent out a poll question with pictures of Jeeps in both colors to family and friends and let them decide. Results: Hydro 9 Snazz 3

Grab some pics of Sarge and Hydro from the many great ones here in the forum and have some fun with it. Then report back with your findings.

I know you said you weren't interested in Earl, but it looks so good!

Also, I'm in the tan leather seat club too!
Do you think Earl needs the black grill though? Some colors look better with it some without it? ?
