Have had these issues on an and off over the last year. Dealership can’t find anything wrong. I have replaced canbus both green and white. It drove fine all winter, then the other day it started acting up again. Typically disconnect negative battery cable and resets for a few days. I’m simply at a loss.

That screams green Canbus to me. Odd that a new one would fail so quickly, but certainly not unheard of.

The plant that makes those is in my area and they are notorious for high employee turnover - definitely the kind of situation that can adversely affect product quality.

You know, I wondered that. But, it just seems odd that it was fine all winter without replacing it and then a couple hot days, running with the top off and then it starts. But, at this point, I’m open to any suggestions and help.! Appreciate your response..

Main battery was replaced last fall, I don’t have an auxiliary battery. Mine is a 2.0 etorque with the 48v battery underneath in between the frame rails

Pull DTC (codes), start there. First guess would be a bad battery or wiring issue. Load test your battery, check charging system to eliminate anything there.

They did find a wire that was chaffed last year and “fixed” that along with new battery. It had one hiccup after that when it went completely crazy and went into “limp mode” all gauges going crazy etc, but dealership could never duplicate it. And since early fall last year until just a couple days ago it’s been problem free.

Heat does amazing things to plastic and metal. expansion can cause cracks in connectors to move more and cause shorts where in the cold they may not cause a problem. Same with wiring. In the heat the wiring softens up and moves more. Wiggle some harnesses, especially around where a "repair" was done for chafing

Next time it's acting up, pop the glove compartment out and just push/wiggle the plugs going into the canbus and see if it clears up temporarily. Be careful to do one canbus at a time to isolate the potential problem.

You should really pull the codes and see what's actually going on before randomly throwing parts at things. Might be communication related, sure, or might be a single module acting up. Hell, might be a single sensor.

Pull the codes.

I am a firm believer in diagnosing an issue thoroughly before throwing parts at it.

Usually.

In this case, the part is so cheap (~$10) and so easy to swap (~10 minutes), it's worth the stab in the dark to save yourself the trouble.
