Hi all. I know this could be multiple things but looking for some insight. Brand new 2024 JL Sport, 3.6. Check engine light randomly starting blinking and engine was running rough. I was pulling over and engine light went solid and engine was back to normal. Anyway, this happened on and off on my short drive back home. Seemed to start when I was slowing down....or going down small elevations. Any ideas? Also: I know I have warranty, but I'm terrified I caused engine damage. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

What code(s) is it throwing? A flashing MIL combined with a miss is generally indicative of a bad coil or injector.

There are easy ways to diagnose, but if you're not comfortable pulling coils and injectors, just take it to the dealer and have it addressed under warranty.

No idea. I don’t have a reader. It only has 500 miles on it - brand new. If it is what you say it is, could I have caused damage by driving it home a few miles? Thanks.

No, you're fine. I've driven more then a few vehicles that had a bad coil or injector. They run like crap, but aren't going to do any damage. That said, this is a brand new vehicle. I would call the dealership and request that they send a tow truck to pick it up just to be on the safe side. It's all going to be on their dime anyway.

Any ideas or updates on what it was?
