Any idea why the Wrangler would be the cheapest to insure?

Good lord. I insure 3 vehicles for that price.Maybe it's just inflation, but my new Wrangler with the same level of coverage cost me more to insure than my last car, which was known for having high insurance premiums. And the price has jumped significantly since then.
Been driving for 3 decades without a collision under the same insurer, just occasional comprehensive claims for no-fault deer strikes. My JL coverage just went from $1,575/yr to $1,725/yr while my Evo was always around $1,300 and was named "most expensive vehicle to insure" back in 2012 ($1,650 adjusted for inflation, which is still cheaper than my current rate).

My dad's Wrangler is a fair bit cheaper to insure on a 3-vehicle policy as well, but overall it's still significantly more than mine for the same region, insurer and coverage. Especially considering neither of us would drive more than 1 vehicle at a time. I'm constantly losing my multi-vehicle discount, even though I have access to a company car. Bet if you got a quote for just your Wrangler and no other vehicles, it certainly wouldn't be $800/yr.Good lord. I insure 3 vehicles for that price.
My Jeep's insurance runs me less than 800/year.
My truck is on a separate insurer under the business account and we only added my wife’s Pacifica 2 months ago. When it was the only vehicle on my policy it was still under 1k/yr and that’s with pretty good coverage. USAA has always done great for me.My dad's Wrangler is a fair bit cheaper to insure on a 3-vehicle policy as well, but overall it's still significantly more than mine for the same region, insurer and coverage. Paying those rates sucks, but it pisses me off even more that the insurance company if too f'ing cheap to issue insurance cards and bills by mail now.
I've been with Allstate my entire life, so that's probably part of the equation. My truck is on a separate insurer under the business account and we only added my wife’s Pacifica 2 months ago. Companies vary by vehicle too. Switched from Allstate to AAA, Wrangler lower, GC lower, PU comparable, 4R quite a bit higher, MC substantially higher. Was an overall wash after leaving the MC at Allstate. Gave the 4R to my grandson.I've been with Allstate my entire life, so that's probably part of the equation.
Otherwise, I've always kept "full coverage" with $50/$100k personal liability, $25k property, $10k medical, $50/$100k underinsured, with no deductible for a comprehensive claim and $500 for a collision. Guess it's somewhat comparable to the coverage listed in the article, but a little worse for some things and better for others. The no cost claims for deer strikes under comprehensive has likely saved me thousands over the years, though they're still recouping that with higher rates.
Iirc, insurance premiums vary wildly depending on which state you're in and their laws and requirements. Author of the article probably should've specified that.
