Addressed by making sure your pinion angle is set properly. It’s really not hard to do especially with the factory driveshaft. The Rezzepa joint is very forgiving in that way.
If you have the 4auto transfer case in 4Auto it will be locked “at speed” so pinion angle has to be addressed. If it’s all stock vibes are definitely not an issue. Vibes only start to become a problem when you get over 4” of lift.
So you’re going to adjust pinion angle over caster? You can’t dial in both. The more you lift the more they’ll be in opposition to each other. These axles like 6°+ of caster. You can’t have that AND ideal pinion angle. Caster is way more important in getting these things to drive correctly. The pinion/caster relationship is not the same as the JK.

Well yeah that’s how it works. Caster and pinion angle are a compromise. Set your caster where you want it, drive it and see how it works. If you get vibes you back off the caster till the vibes are gone. When you do a gear swap you do the process all over again as gear swaps greatly affect the drive shaft rotation speed. Pinion angle that was fine with factory gears may not be with 4.88 or 5.13 gears. No different then it was in the JK world, same base specs. Currently I have 5.5 degrees caster and no vides I’ve had it as high as 6.5 degrees. No issue with FAD locked at 50-60mph here. “Toe in” is also a factor as is front end geometry for the vehicle to drive and handle properly.

Remember, the 392 has this very same diff, it’s Full time 4WD (no 2wd mode) with a FAD delete. Just like the new Rubicon X has. The ONLY job of the FAD on a Wrangler is better fuel mileage nothing more.

The regular Rubicon has the same axle as the 2023. The 2024 Rubicon X has the Mojave/XR/392 HD front diff with the FAD delete that they use on the 392. It also has steel knuckles rather then aluminum.
I’m not sure if the Willis with XR package has the FAD delete or not.
Is this true of the Rubicon X 4XE? The order guide indicates it had the DJV axle, but what about the HD front diff and steel knuckles? I know it has full time 4wd as an option.

Being a Rubicon X, If it has the 35” Tire package and 4.56 gears then it will have the heavier diff housing and steel knuckles.

What’s the difference in gas mileage if you get rid of the fad? I had my caster adjusted to 6.5/6.7 drives great. . ( turned out to be 7.9) No lift. Stock with steersmarts and mopar beed locks. You definitely need more caster as stated above. Completely different driving experience. Went to a specialist 4wd alignment shop to get a second opinion. Test drove first and then put it on the alignment rack which had just been calibrated. The caster was 7.9 on left and right. all other measurements were great. The specialist said he's been doing this for many years and my jeep drove better than he had experienced before and would not worry about driving it to California. (Never). He works every day doing alignments including most alignments for a local 4wd shop with all kinds of lifted jeeps etc. His advice was leave it be everything is fine.

Pinion angle was checked and is fine. The jeep drives and handles great. Finally satisfied especially mentally. You know there's always something in the back of your mind you just want double checked. Next is the gen 3 Genesis upgrade to the Genesis system I've had for a while. This must be the ocd I see some guys mention.

That's great. But is it serviceable? You can't currently buy Rubicon differentials or locker actuators. I'm not buying another jeep if I can't buy the parts.

You can buy the sensor now for a kidney, lol, (cheaper than the whole axle I guess) I’d imagine you’ll eventually be able to buy the actuator…….

Talked with a Dana Aftermarket sales rep a couple weeks ago. They said there is a issue with field servicing the electrical parts and that's why Jeep nor Dana sells them and that they have no plans to change that policy from what he knew.

4xe Rubixon X is not on 35s and is not 4.56 gearing.
So then it’s not a Rubicon X. It’s my understanding that all Rubicon X have the XR 35” tire package.

I’m sorry, but please go to Jeep.com and build a 4xe Rubicon X. It IS a Rubicon X, and on anything but a 4xe, that would include what was the XR package. The 4xe does not have 35s on the Rubicon X.

Well that’s sad … what does the X give you on a 4Xe that a regular Rubicon doesn’t have if you don’t get gears and 35” tires?
