Can anyone tell me if there were any changes to the factory front axle on the 24 Rubicon or is it the same as the 23?

Should be the exact same. Wish they would have added 3-4* more castor to it :( but can't have everything.

No FAD on the 2024 Rubicon (and Willys?) Mine has the DJV front axle with larger diameter tube (from the JT & 4XE) but I believe this is part of the XR package, vs the standard Rubicon DJF.

The regular Rubicon has the same axle as the 2023. The 2024 Rubicon X has the Mojave/XR/392 HD front diff with the FAD delete that they use on the 392. It also has steel knuckles rather then aluminum.
I’m not sure if the Willis with XR package has the FAD delete or not.

First of all, an Axel is a figure skating move. The full-float axle is in the rear. There are no changes to the 2024 front axle. The FAD delete people are talking about is on the models with the auto transfer case. The FAD cutout is still there, so the tube isn’t any stronger.

All Wranglers with the XR package come with YES the Heavier diff housing with thicker axle tubes, steel knuckles and 4.56 gears. Up to 2023 only the 392 had the FAD delete. For 2024 the Rubicon X with this axle also has the FAD delete. I have confirmed this at the dealer.

My point is the FAD delete doesn’t gain you anything. The tube is still cutout for the FAD, weakening it. You just don’t have a FAD motor.

I agree that it’s still a weak point but it’s still stronger then the Std Rubicon axle, that is the point. It was designed for the Mojave for desert running initially then moved on to the 392 and the Xtreme Recon pkg. The FAD has proven to be a liability on the trail. If a wheel sensor goes out you can’t engage the FAD. Removing the FAD motor is a plus. I have the 392 FAD delete for mine but haven’t got around to installing it yet as you also need a programmer to bypass the electronics as well so you don’t get warning lights.

Deleting the FAD also introduces the potential for driveline vibrations depending on how much lift you have since the caster/pinion angle relationship on these axles is so terrible.

Does nothing more then make it like the JK .. if it has vibes it should be addressed whether there is a FAD or not. For those with the 4Auto transfer case it’s a must as the FAD stays locked in 4Auto.

lol addressed how? The only way to fix it is cut and turn the axle or replace it. It doesn’t need to be addressed when you have the FAD because it’s only an issue at speed.

Addressed by making sure your pinion angle is set properly. It’s really not hard to do especially with the factory driveshaft. The Rezzepa joint is very forgiving in that way.
If you have the 4auto transfer case in 4Auto it will be locked “at speed” so pinion angle has to be addressed. If it’s all stock vibes are definitely not an issue. Vibes only start to become a problem when you get over 4” of lift.
