There appears to be some changes to the 2024+ Wrangler and I would like to collect a list of those changes.

My observations - 2024 JLU Rubicon
  • No FAD
  • Have CV Axles (no 4auto, just normal Rubicon transfer case)

Manufactures items:

Metalcloak
  • 2024 Models: Due to a frame bracket change the HD Control Arm Pro'lignment Kit will not work on 2024+ JL Wranglers or JT Gladiators.
SteerSmarts
  • YETI XD™ JL/JT SECTOR SHAFT BRACE WITH FRAME SIDE TRACK BAR REINFORCEMENT BRACKET (2018-2023) - ***NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 2024+ MODELS***

Have you found any other items that don't work with 2024+ or any other changes?

You mentioned the CV joints on the front axle for a regular Rubicon. Do we know this is going to be for all future orders? I’ve seen it mentioned, but no link to a source.

Many grab handles that mount to the sport bar aren't compatible due to the new airbags added (Mopar finally made a revision to theirs to work with '24+).

And I'm assuming many of the phone/accessory mounting solution that installed into the upper dash tray won't work with whatever that new piece is (though I think it's designed to mount things on its own in some way).

Aftermarket antennas obviously won't work with whichever trims (all?) that have the new integrated windshield antenna.

Maybe seat covers. Doesn't the '24+ have new side airbags built into the seats bolsters?

Seems to be the case on pretty much every Rubicon I’ve seen so far regardless of powertrain.

Huh… I was under the impression that the only drivetrains with the CV joints were with the full time transfer case. No full time transfer case, no CV joints.

Seems to not be the case anymore. ?‍♂
The only thing I can figure is Jeep bean counters are doing it as a cost cutting move to narrow down how many components they have to build. Functionally, it shouldn’t make a difference whether or not the transfer case is delivering 4H Auto or 4H Part time to the front axle based on what kind of axle shafts it has; its still gonna function the same way regardless. The bigger news to me is the fact that they shit canned the FAD. That tells me this move to make the CV axle shafts happen on more trims was a combo move for Jeep. They knew they were eliminating something so they made it work in their favor while reducing cost.

That’s just my .02 anyway. Hopefully some expert that’s got an inside track can tell us more.

  • Front Sway Bar Link bolt size change from M12 to M14 - beefier compared to previous.
  • AMPS mounting holes on the dash - one on each side of the speaker/charger-indicator hump
  • 12.3" display - with a fantastic panel (full array dimming - brightest whites and deepest blacks)
  • Side curtain air bags standard

Elimination of the FAD is a good thing. One less thing to go wrong. However, adding a major vulnerability to lower cost is BS. I don’t want to have to worry about a stupid rubber boot getting damaged every time I go into the woods. They are a major PITA to replace. Ask me how I know…

Some minor interior changes I found.

The dash grab bar on the passenger side has a different shape on the '24. I had one of those pop-in storage trays from my previous Gladiator, so I tried to drop it into that slot and it won't fit. Completely different shape/width.

I also had a dead pedal installed on my previous Jeep, which I reordered again for the '24. Usually these dead pedals bolt to the aluminum dash support in the footwell, where there are usually holes pre-drilled. The '24 has no holes drilled on that support bar, so I had to drill my own.

@Nine Ball

There is now a Grab Tray - Organizer Passenger Side Storage tray, compatible with the 2024 Wrangler JL JLU & 2024 Gladiator JT.

https://www.amazon.com/JeCar-Organizer-Passenger-Accessory-Compatible/dp/B0CM61X9FX/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3VGCGMR1QLU19&keywords=jeep+wrangler+jl+accessories&qid=1701464704&sprefix=jl,+wrangler,aps,87&sr=8-1

For those that install a Grab Tray - Organizer Passenger Side Storage tray, (I have) remember to only keep small items in it as the air bag , if/when deployed, will catapult larger items into your passengers face.

Wow, CV’s on a Jeep, just like a CRV. I’m so impressed?. I betcha they’ve even got cool new decals and everything?. Seriously though, CV’s on. Jeep with part time 4wd? Sticks and rocks on the rail are gonna love the rubber boots…
