Here's my solution... I started out considering a wireless CarPlay / wireless charging solution but decided that I was likely going to end up with glitchy CarPlay and slower charging.
I didn't want to take up space on my dash or block view of the displays, didn't want to block vents, didn't want to block my view of the road, and didn't want any wires dangling.
Parts:
This left me with no wires dangling and an easy/secure cradle with a wire that is not visible at all. CarPlay works and it charges.

Parts:
- Course Motorsports Manual Cradle (they also have a very nice wireless model)
- Bulletpoint Mounting Solutions Grab Bar Mounting Point
- Ram mount with double sockets
- 1" to 17mm ball adapter
- AXXESS - USB Adapter Wiring Harness for Select 2010 and Later Vehicles - Multi
- Female to Female USB adapter
- 4' Anker double braided USB A to Lightning
- Removed the back panel from the center console
- This gave me access to the connector for the USB within the console
- Unplugged the connector and plugged it into the Axxess USB adapter
- Connected the Axxess Adapter to a 4' lightening cable with the female adapter
- Ran the lightening cable under the console, up through the glove box, and behind and out through the trim around the HVAD.
This left me with no wires dangling and an easy/secure cradle with a wire that is not visible at all. CarPlay works and it charges.
